The Foster Closet is located in Raleigh, NC is a free resource to help bridge the gap in the unknown of foster care.

New foster placements, kinship placements, in home services, and reunification are all areas the Foster Closet can help. The closet offers clothing and shoes (newborn to teen), toys, baby/toddler furniture, baby gear and more. Keep what you need, bring back what you don't to exchange for items you need for your next placement. The closet is run by foster parents and other volunteers who support the foster community.

🚨 **WE NEED YOUR HELP!** 🚨

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have lost the sponsor for our storage unit. 💔

Our Foster Closet is looking for a **community partner** who can help us keep donated items safe, organized, and ready for the families who need them.

📍 **LOCATION IS IMPORTANT:**\
We are looking for a storage space **close to Knightdale or Seven Marks Church in Raleigh** so our volunteers can easily access and manage donations.

We are seeking either:
📦 **A FREE or LOW-COST STORAGE SPACE**\
Our current space is a **10×15 storage unit**, and we are praying for something similar in size to store:
• Off-season overstock\
• Donations awaiting review, quality control & sorting\

OR

💙 **A MONTHLY FINANCIAL SPONSOR**\
A business, church, organization, or individual willing to sponsor **$150–$200/month** toward a storage unit.

Your support helps us continue saying **YES** to foster families, kinship families, and families working toward reunification — without the burden of basic needs standing in the way.

(Found) Need: Mamaroo

A seasoned foster momma just reached out because her mamaroo died 😭. She generally only does babies. This is her most used piece of equipment and searching for a new one.

A huge THANK YOU to our friends at Checkpoint EHR for their donation to the Foster Closet. This past week they blessed us with:

🎒12 backpacks
🧸 8 stuffies
💦 8 water bottles
🛌 14 blankets
🍼 3 baby dolls
👟 6 pairs of shoes

All these items will help pack our new placement bags when kiddos first come into care and fill our current need of some toddler shoes!

I have a kinship family in need of a toddler bed!! Little sweetness is trying so hard to climb out and getting stuck so now it’s a safety issue!

Any leads?? Family is in JoCo but anywhere close to Wake/Joco is good!

When a social worker calls, we answer. 📞💙

We recently got a call about a local family with 5 incredible kiddos who needed some extra support with clothes, shoes, and school supplies. The goal? Family preservation. Keeping kids safely with their families whenever possible is a mission we will always get behind.

So, we said a resounding YES! We put together fresh clothing, shoes, and 5 brand-new backpacks fully stocked with school supplies to give them a great start.

Our mission goes beyond supporting children currently experiencing foster care—whenever we can, we love helping to prevent it from happening in the first place.

We are so proud to share that this is just one of over 130 families we’ve walked alongside so far this year—whether that means preventing entry, supporting children in care, or celebrating reunification.

Thank you to our community for making these "yeses" possible. 🙌✨

✨ What goes into a New Placement Bag? ✨

When a child enters foster care, they often arrive with only the clothes on their back—or a few belongings hurriedly packed in a trash bag. These items are rarely packed with the care and intention every child deserves.

At The Foster Closet, we believe every child entering care should feel seen, valued, and comforted. That’s why we pack each New Placement Bag with brand-new essentials chosen with love:

🧸 A weighted or microwaveable stuffed animal
🛋️ A cozy blanket
💧 A reusable water bottle
✏️ A journal or coloring book with markers/pens
🎁 Brand-new toys

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made today possible! ❤️

Because of your support, The Foster Closet was able to serve 46 families and over 100 incredible kids today.

Despite the weather throwing a major wrench in our morning plans, seeing so many bright smiles made it all worth it. Today simply wouldn't have happened without our selfless volunteers, generous donors, wish list buyers, nonprofit partners, and the wonderful families who showed up.

Here are just a few of the sweet messages we’ve received since wrapping up:

“She was nearly tearful when she told me how special she felt today.”

“I’m so happy I could cry.” — One sweet kiddo going through his new school supplies

From seeing little ones beam in their Christmas dresses ready for Santa, to hearing moments like these, my heart is completely full. The magic of today was a true blessing.
