ā€œIf I had a message, I would say if you have a goal, continue to go towards it. Don’t feel like you have to have a Plan B. If it’s truly what you love to do, then continue to go towards that goal every day.ā€

At the tournament, Beyond Basketball sat down with — athlete and COO of — to talk about his journey on the court and in business.

šŸ”„ Player spotlight: Julian Gamble ()

From making his mark at the University of Miami to more than a decade as a professional in international leagues, his career has been defined by hard work, resilience, and a love for basketball that never fades. Today, alongside his wife L’Oreal Gamble (), he is bringing that same passion into the Raleigh Aces (), a local women’s semi-pro team, and Life’s a Gamble League (), the nonprofit behind it that uses the sport to empower athletes and strengthen community.

That focus is what led him to Ground Zero (), a stage built on culture, community, and competition. In this interview with Diana Garland (), Julian shares how his journey shaped his purpose now, why giving back matters, and how he is using basketball to inspire the next generation.

And because every good interview deserves a plot twist, his three sons made a surprise appearance—stealing the spotlight and reminding us that the love of basketball is best when it’s shared through family, fellowship, and the future it creates.

This is the heart of Beyond Basketball. Stories like Julian’s prove the game is just the beginning.

šŸ”„ The brought basketball, culture, and community together in a way only this stage can.

In this video, talks with , Co Founder of the Pro-Am, about why Ground Zero and Beyond Basketball continue to team up. Ground Zero provides the platform—competition, culture, and community at its core. Beyond Basketball wanted to contribute to that by highlighting what happens beyond the court: leadership, opportunity, and personal growth.

That shared purpose is what makes this partnership powerful. Together, we’re celebrating talent, building community, and showing how the game fuels impact far beyond the final score.

To capture it all, went courtside to capture stories straight from the players. They opened up not only about the tournament itself, but also about their lives beyond the game—school, careers, and the goals driving them forward. Those interviews are dropping soon, and you won’t want to miss the voices of the athletes who made this tournament unforgettable.

Huge shoutout to Ray, Poobie Chapman, and the Ground Zero team for creating something that’s bigger than basketball.

This is community. This is impact. This is legacy.
