Happy New Year!

Please join us for our next community sewing class where Melanie will be showing us how to make a festive craft - fabric BUNTING!!

Participants are invited to create one door- or window-sized string of flag bunting, or party banner.

As ever, materials, tools, and notions are provided, but if you have any of those you’d prefer to use, feel free to bring them.

Community Sewing-December

Join us for the last sessions of the year! We’re going to be practicing machine sewing and using the rotary cutters.

The project is Making Cloth Napkins.

All tools, notions, and fabrics are supplied, including a large selection of holiday themed fabrics. (Or if you’ve got fabrics you want to use, you’re welcome to use them. )

The beautiful human-powered machines (hand-crank, treadle) will be available, as well as a couple of brand new Community Sewing machines!

Join us this week for a holiday project for the kids of Putney Central School! This will be a great opportunity to get some practice using one of our machines, or you can bring your own and get reacquainted with it, working on a simple and fun project to benefit the PCS Holiday Bazaar.

This week’s workshops will be drop-ins — no need to preregister.

So many great projects created at the Sewing with Melanie class this afternoon. We will have another class in December (16th and 20th).

Join us for our November sewing workshop this coming week!

Tuesday 11/18 7-9
Saturday 11/22 3-5

Create a stuffed lovey (cat, mouse, fish, bird, mystery animal, etc.) for yourself or a friend.

Or add a pincushion (plump hen, a sweet babushka, or a plain ole square) to your hand sewing toolkit.

These projects are intended to be a slow-stitch activity, and require minimal machine sewing, but if you’re looking to practice on your machine, you’re welcome to bring it in!
As always, patterns, fabric, and notions will be provided.

Attendance is limited, so please reply as soon as possible to reserve your spot!

Join us for our October workshop at the Putney Community Center.
We’ll be making simple 9 Patch quilt squares, using off-grid techniques (human-powered machines and human hand sewing!)
The quilt squares can be used for making a cushion cover or pot holder, or decorating a jacket.
