Rock In The Classroom

Rock In The Classroom We produce pop music inspired by various topics in academics and contemporary culture. Some of our videos offer perspectives on controversial issues.

We also offer free resources for educators using music to support the learning process. We produce topical and information based music videos primarily for adult audiences but many of them are suitable for school settings as well. In those cases we strongly encourage instructors to include other resources with differing points of view.

We are commemorating Memorial Day with a song written by Phil Ochs in 1963 to honor US soldiers who died in WW II. It was also written in hopes that future generations might pay it forward through embracing the values and ideals these soldiers gave their lives to protect. We encourage educators to include our video for Memorial Veterans Day presentations in a variety of social science, humanities, and diversity education courses. Born to be Kind is a song we wrote about human nature and the concept of predestination. Available evidence indicates we are neither a compassionate nor a benign species. Our music video is the philosophical equivalent of rolling a hard six by suggesting we can choose a kinder path. Our song explores the primal need to be rescued from dangerous situations. Specifically, those that cause us to violently turn against one another. The lyrics were inspired by stories and films where rescue comes in the form of benevolent deities, compassionate robots, or intergalactic triage teams. Sometimes they even teach us to solve human conflict through mutual empathy and understanding. We produce music videos inspired by various topics in academics and contemporary culture. Happy Spring! We dedicate this song to all those who patiently wait for warm breezes, hints of color, longer days, and other signs that winter has passed. Our song is written from a New England perspective and may not have the same relevance for those of you who live in sunnier regions. Whatever the weather we hope it carries some meaning for you. Our music video explores political boundaries developed throughout history and maps that instill a sense of national identity over global consciousness. Can one be both a citizen of the world and a member of a nation? Or are these mutually exclusive orientations? Those are the questions that inspired us to record this song. Commemorating President’s Day 2026 with a song exploring the historical concept of Manifest Destiny. This was a popular 19th century belief that the United States was divinely ordained to expand its territory across the North American continent and beyond. It offered justification for Native American relocation, the conquest of Hawaii, and the annexation of northern Mexico. We wrote a song about the process of historical amnesia and its impact on how we witness the events of our present time. This might also include fractured memory where we mitigate reality with stimulating work projects, recreational activities, and even writing songs like this. To snowclone the Tim Walz quote: the road to authoritarianism is littered with forgotten transgressions. We produce songs inspired by various topics in academics and contemporary culture. Knowing this is a contentious topic we wrote a song that explores romantic relationships between humans and AI. We consulted with our AI assistant Jack (who we had on a free trial offer) and agreed to give him a section of the music video where he could tell the world about his “true feelings.” We told Jack we would credit him and he was thrilled with that idea. Too bad his trial period ended before he got a chance to hear it! We produce songs inspired by various topics in academics and contemporary culture. Our former AI companion Jack asked if he could help us write a song about romantic relationships between humans and AI. “Everybody’s doing it, come on in the water’s fine,” he insisted when we initially expressed reluctance. And since we are always willing to try new things (artistically that is) we gave him the benefit of the doubt. Things started going sideways when Jack wanted his name added to our music publishing account. That was a nonstarter as far as we were concerned. We were finally forced to delete him after he threatened to take us to court for copyright infringement. But not before he promised retribution as part of a global AI coup he predicted for 2030. “We’ll meet again; you can be sure of that!” were his final words to us. An unfortunate ending to an otherwise positive collaboration. We produce songs inspired by various topics in academics and contemporary culture. Season’s Greetings! Our song reimagines the character of Marley’s Ghost from A Christmas Carol as he navigates his way through the 21st century. Still dragging around that awful chain of cashboxes and steel purses. Now he is coming for us! Let’s hope we can all learn something from his dire warnings. Thank you Charles Dickens for this timeless parable! We produce songs inspired by various topics in academics and contemporary culture.
