When hiking outdoors, make sure everyone in your group is wearing orange. Many of us know that regular deer season begins in November, but many other animals are hunted in the winter, spring and fall. The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department specifies the dates here: https://vtfishandwildlife.com/hunt/hunting-and-trapping-seasons

Currently, spring season for turkeys lasts until May 31, 2021 so wear that orange if you're in the woods in May.

Other hunting seasons coming up later in 2021 include: black bear, deer, turkey, moose, crow, gray squirrel, hare, rabbit, ruffed grouse, woodcock, snow goose, ducks, coots, mergansers, Canada geese, brant, raccoon, red and gray fox, and coyote. The next hunting seasons for bobcat and muskrat don't occur until 2022.
