134 Collaborative 134 Collaborative is a nonprofit organization that builds community collaborations & partnerships in the areas of health, education & the arts

We are a collaborative of nonprofit organizations & programs housed in the Mathewson Street Church building in Downtown Providence. We host a wide range of non-religious human service activities & programs during the week, such as a soup kitchen, educational programs for at-risk youth, and support services for Rhode Islanders living with mental illness. Many of these services are not only made pos

sible through direct partnerships with other non profits but also through 134 Collaborative facilitating additional collaborations, administrative oversight, sharing of resources and volunteer recruitment to help make the programming sustainable. The 134 Collaborative envisions a center for diverse populations that will come together in the historic Mathewson Street Church building. The center will combine the values embedded in an urban church community with nonprofit intent in order to serve as a center that builds community within the larger urban frame.

A Shout Out to one of our amazing volunteers, Neville Bedford, ESQ. Neville has helped many housed & unhoused individuals through our free monthly legal clinic AND mentored law students through our partnership with Roger Williams University School of Law. He has a special talent for engaging needed resources and building connections among nonprofits who care for our community. In addition, Neville serves on the board of directors at the Rhode Island Coalition to End Homelessness.

In Memoriam of Jennie DiTomasso who passed away last week. Jennie was a friend to so many, especially to those who were unhoused and in need of support. She was a loyal volunteer with The New Street Sights Page; a server at Better Lives Rhode Island Community Meal every Friday; a supporter & participant in the Tenderloin Opera Company and an advocate with RI Organizing Project. Her caring & quiet presence will be greatly missed in our collective communities.
