I’m pleased to announce an interesting discovery. There are two distinct varieties of the Heisey Rose etched cup and saucer!

The standard cup has six alternating etched panels, three with rosebuds and three without.
The variant cup has six identical etched panels, with three leaves above each rose.

The standard saucer has three repeats of the etching, each with one large rose, two small roses and one rosebud.
The variant saucer has four repeats of the etching, each with one rose and one rosebud.

Here are four Ridgway Blue Willow items made in the second quarter of the 20th century in Stoke on Trent. Notice the interesting variations in the marks.
