Grow Portland supports schools and communities by facilitating hands-on garden experiences that foster connections to food, nature and each other.

We lead school-day programming and help steward food producing gardens and outdoor learning spaces.

We had a really sweet learning field trip to the NAYA garden for our team. We learned about the extensive programming and offerings for the Native community in Portland, learned about medicine plants such as Hopi to***co and sweetgrass, pulled bindweed and made fireweed seed balls. Really excited for this connection. Thank you, Jenny Piatti!

Our 5,000 students will soon be back learning in their school gardens- but our team of awesome educators are busy at work refining equitable teaching practices, brainstorming new activities, and preparing the gardens for another spectacular year!

Want a chance to see Jack Johnson live? As part of our All At Once partnership, we’re giving away a pair of Jack Johnson concert tickets to his concert at McMenamins Edgefield on September 28th.

You can enter by either becoming a monthly member of Grow Portland (committing $5/month or more) OR send us a postcard with the contest name, your name and email. The winner will be announced September 21st and the prize will be sent via email.

We are missing our students! Luckily, the countdown to back to school is ON! We begin Garden Educator orientation and training next Monday and will be setting our sights on that first day of school. See you soon, students!

We are partnering with the Irvington Extended Day program this summer. Students made these beautiful sun prints in the garden during that program. So pretty!
