ReClaim It is a nonprofit retail store selling reclaimed goods and materials. Created by the nonprofit Cracked Pots, the organization rescues reusable items from the Metro Central Transfer Station and end-of-line waste from local industry for creative reuse. From antiques to art materials, wood, and scrap metal, the wide array of offerings changes weekly.

8/29 Unpack this tote of “smalls” from the dump with us! ♻️🗑️🦝 From animal tea pots to vintage home decor to brass coat hooks to picture frames, our volunteers glean at the transfer station each week to save treasures like these from going to the landfill. Since 2014, we have diverted over 1.3 million pounds from the waste stream. Come on down & see what’s new!

8/27 It’s truck day, trash pandas! 🦝🚛♻️ Check out the latest treasures gleaned by volunteers at the transfer station! We have diverted over 1.3 million pounds from the landfill since opening in 2014 & are so excited to keep that number rising! There are so many reasons these treasures end up at the dump & we are glad to be able to save what we can. Come on down & see what’s new!

Call For Artists: Holiday Shop 🎄♻️❄️ ReClaim It/Cracked Pots is now accepting applications for Holiday Shop 2026, a seasonal pop-up in Portland featuring art & gifts made from at least 80% salvaged or recycled materials. It’s a fundraiser to support our nonprofit mission of reducing waste & celebrating local creativity.

We are looking for a variety of art & gifts that appeal to a mix of ages, styles, cultures & spending ability including housewares, decor, clothing, accessories, toys & more.

Details:
📆 Open at least 2 weekends between Thanksgiving & Christmas.
📍 Portland (location TBD).
♻️ Art is a minimum 80% reclaimed materials.
🆓 No booth fee. No application fee.
🦝 35% commission to support ReClaim It's mission.
🏷️ We handle all sales. No need to be present!

Acceptance is rolling until filled, so submit as early as possible!

From The Lair Of Repair 🛠️🦝 This charming wooden table made by the Athens Table & Mfg. Co. in Tennessee, came to us with what appears to be the date 12-5-88 written on the underside. It was salvaged from the dump with one leg completely broken off, but otherwise in great shape. Our repair team got to work gluing the leg back together, clamping it with a rope, wood dowels & a little leverage, then tapping the rest of the leg back into place & adding a longer screw for stability. What started as a table destined for the landfill transformed into a piece of furniture with a renewed lease on life! This one has already found a new home & we hope it has many more years to come.
