Today we recognize Juneteenth and honor the ongoing work of freedom and liberation.

Our practice reminds us that our lives are deeply interconnected, and that freedom comes from wisdom, compassion, and love for each other. May we remember our shared humanity and commitment to creating a community where all beings feel welcomed, valued, and free.

🌿 This Sunday at PIMC: Kirsten Rudestam 🌿

🗓 Sunday, May 31
🕙 10:00am–12:00pm
📍 Offered In-Person & Online via Zoom

We’re pleased to welcome guest teacher Kirsten Rudestam back to PIMC. A longtime Insight Meditation teacher, environmental educator, and wilderness guide, Kirsten brings a warm, grounded, and thoughtful approach to the Dharma.

🪷 Dharma Talk: “Reflections on Sila in Times of Moral Confusion”

This talk explores how Buddhist practice cultivates an inner refuge through the development of sīla (ethical integrity). As insight deepens, ethical conduct arises naturally—not as rigid rules, but as an expression of care, connection, and non-harming — qualities of being that our world needs now more than ever.

The morning will include guided meditation, a Dharma talk, and time for questions and discussion. All are welcome, whether new to meditation or longtime practitioners.

We warmly invite you to gather with us this Sunday for meditation and community. Guest teacher Alexa Redner will offer guidance and a Dharma talk on Living in Alignment with our Heartfelt Aspirations:

What would it feel like to meet your life with greater steadiness, compassion, and ease?

This daylong retreat invites us into the classical heart practices of lovingkindness (mettā), compassion (karuṇā), and equanimity (upekkhā), grounded in the Insight Meditation tradition.

Through guided and silent meditation, mindful awareness of the body, and Dharma reflections, we’ll explore how embodied presence can soften reactivity and help us meet the changing conditions of life with clarity and care.

Together, we’ll practice being with impermanence, difficulty, and uncertainty — not by pushing experience away, but by learning to meet it kindly.

This retreat is open to both newer and experienced meditators.

✨ Guided & silent meditation
✨ Embodied mindfulness practice
✨ Dharma reflections
✨ Supportive, welcoming atmosphere

If you’ve been longing for a day to slow down, reconnect, and cultivate a more tender and steady heart, you are warmly invited.

📅 Saturday, May 31 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
📍 Held in person at PIMC and online via Zoom

We’re very honored to welcome Ayya Suvijjānā and Ayya Niyyānika from Passaddhi Vihara back to PIMC this Sunday, May 17.

Ayya Suvijjānā will be offering a Dharma talk on “The Five Courses of Speech,” exploring how our words can support clarity, kindness, and integrity in practice.

We’ll also be sharing a community potluck and receiving a blessing from the monastics—always a meaningful part of their visits.

If you’ve been curious about practicing with monastics or just want to spend a Sunday morning in good company, you’re very welcome.
