Start your year by slowing down! Join resident teacher Jim Dalton with the Daltones (Karen and Doug OโDell) for a nourishing day of mindful movement, guided meditation, silent sitting and group discussion.
Offered both in-person and online, the Saturday workshop will review several QiGong traditions: the familiar Shibashi routines, plus โThe Eight Pieces of Brocade" โ ancient approaches to healing and rejuvenation.
Using these practices to get in touch with our subtle somatic energy, we will explore both the active and the calming aspects of the Seven Factors of Awakening (mindfulness, energy, investigation, rapture, tranquility, concentration and equanimity). We will experience together which factors are useful for the sluggish mind, which are best suited for the restless mind, and how the Seven Factors teaching can help us enter a space of bare attention and calm abiding.
Bring a sack lunch and a snack to share with other participants if you wish. Please register by Dec. 31, so we can most effectively make arrangements for the group.
