On November 7th, join us for Voz’s 26th Annual Celebration as we gather to celebrate the workers, organizers, and community members who have spent decades fighting for dignity, justice, and a better future for immigrant workers.

At a moment when immigrant communities are facing fear, separation, and attacks on their rights, coming together matters. Sembrando Justicia is a night to celebrate our resistance, honor the power workers have built together, and recommit to the work still ahead.

We’ll gather over food, music, stories, and community as we celebrate 26 years of organizing and everything we’re still building together. 💚🌱

On Sunday, we showed up outside Home Depot at Mall 205 to stand with day laborers fighting for the right to seek work safely and with dignity. ✊🏽🔥

Let’s be clear… this action was worker-led from the start. Workers organized, spoke out, and called on our community to show up with them.

This video was created by Miguel (Angel Carmona), one of Voz’s day laborers, and features part of the speech he gave Sunday afternoon. Miguel’s message gets to the heart of why workers organized this action: they are not asking for special treatment. They are asking for the chance to work, provide for their families, and do so safely.

Thank you, Miguel, and thank you to every worker who keeps pushing all of us to fight for the dignity, safety, and respect migrant workers deserve.

This is especially important right now, as our communities face the threat of even more immigration enforcement. We cannot afford to look away. We have to keep showing up for each other. We have to keep making noise. 📣

Mall 205 property management still has not responded.

But you all have already sent more than 450 letters demanding that they meet with workers and Voz and work toward a real solution.

Let’s keep flooding their inbox until workers can no longer be ignored. ✉️

Yesterday, nearly 200 people showed up at Mall 205 to stand with day laborers and make it loud and clear: workers are not standing alone. ✊🏽🔥

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out, to all of our community partners who showed up in solidarity, to Tiffany Koyama Lane and State Representative Lamar Wise for standing with workers, and most of all, to the day laborers who organized, spoke up, and stood up for their right to seek work safely.

And thank you to everyone who has taken action from home, too. Nearly 400 letters have already been sent to Mall 205 property management demanding that they meet with day laborers and Voz and work toward a real solution!

Mall 205 property management needs to understand that these workers are not alone. Every person who showed up yesterday, every partner who stood with us, and every person who sent a letter is sending that message loud and clear.

They still haven’t responded.

So we’re going to keep the pressure on. We will continue organizing, emailing, marching, and showing up until workers are heard and can return to seek work safely.

No worker should ever stand alone.

Join day laborers and Voz and community partners for a worker-led community action at Mall 205. Together, we will demand that property management:

1) Meet directly with worker representatives and Voz.
2) Work toward a safe and agreed-upon hiring area.
3) Allow workers to return and seek employment without retaliation.

This is about more than a place to stand; it is about workers having the power, dignity, and the right to provide for their families and build a future without being pushed aside.

We’re teaming up with the NE Broadway Business Association to help local businesses understand their rights, prepare for possible ICE activity, and build workplaces where immigrant workers know they won’t have to face these moments alone.
