We’re closing down one block of SE 89th Avenue for a celebration of youth creativity, community collaboration and two major unveilings at our East Portland home.

See the reveal of a youth-led mural transforming the exterior of MVM Studios. Created through a partnership between and , with support from an grant, the project invited members of the MVM community to share what the organization and studio have meant to them. Young artists then interpreted those stories to develop the mural’s imagery and design. Ascending Flow organized the project, helped guide the youth-centered creative process, and artists and led the mural’s design and ex*****on.

We’ll also launch BUS-A-Flow, Ascending Flow’s mobile recording and media arts studio. Bus-A-Flow is transforming a retired transit bus donated by and renovated by .builds into a mobile recording studio, performance stage, and creative hub that will bring music, mentorship, digital storytelling, and creative opportunities directly into underserved communities across Oregon.

That’s a wrap on our final Rock Camp of the summer! 🎸πŸ₯πŸŽ€

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to the incredible young adults who stepped up as teachers, mentors, and band leaders this summer. πŸ’š

Rock Camp is about so much more than learning songs. These leaders created spaces where young people could experiment, make noise, take creative risks, find their people, and experience what it feels like to make music together. We’re so grateful for the patience, energy, encouragement, and seriously impressive amount of rock & roll they brought into the building all summer long.

We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for helping make My Voice Music what it is. 🀘

And summer may be wrapping up, but we’re not done yet!

🎢 Join us for a free evening of original music!

My Voice Music is excited to be part of the Oregon City Public Library Summer Concert Series with performances by Kai Wickham of the The Kai Wickham Trio and Dylan Sandvold.

Kai will perform a solo set and Dylan will join him for acoustic versions of songs by Pale Seasonβ€”the band they write and record with through My Voice Music’s Amplify High School program.
