Oregon Program Delivery Organization for FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge and partner with FIRST Washington on FIRST Robotics Competition. A place for coaches, mentors and volunteers to share information among the FIRST LEGO League Challenge community in Oregon and beyond. We are trying something new this summer, a pre-season scrimmage for FIRST Tech Challenge teams! Modeled on the FRC FIRST Chance event, this event will give rookies and less experienced team members a chance to try out key competition roles. Oregon FTC teams, we need your participation to make this event fun for all! Please see the attached flyer for all the details, and give us your suggestions for a theme: glow party, crazy socks, tiaras & tutus, something else? We were so excited last week to receive a full carload of robotics donations from Vernier Science Education. These mBot kits will be used by ORTOP robotics teams for outreach events and can also be loaned out to our community partners to inspire their young patrons and engage them in STEM learning through robotics. In addition to this tableful of cool bots, we also received a couple of SPIKE Prime kits and a huge number of EV3 robot kits that can be used by teams to compete this season in FIRST LEGO League. Thank you for your generosity, and thank you for thinking of ORTOP. You are helping us connect students with STEM opportunities and making a real difference in Oregon communities!

What a great day at the Albany Public Library! More than 50 students in grades 3-8 joined our host teams, including SWARM 957 FRC and FTC teams 32047- Ti Binturongs and 36396- Albany Volts for a full day of SPIKE Prime fun. Lots of STEM inspiration -- so great to see! Thank you to everyone who came out today and especially to the volunteers who made it work for all.
