A “noise-sensitive” autistic woman is reportedly soothed and comforted by angry music about hating your parents, the government, and being born.

Navya Randhawa, 29, says that two conversations going on in the background at once is intolerable, but blasting American Idiot directly at her eardrums brings her nothing but inner peace.

Randhawa said: “You’d think that all the snarling guitars and thumping drums would trigger my sensory overload, but a few bars of pop-punk, emo or hardcore can replace the unpredictable soundtrack of real life with something robust, predictable and emotionally unambiguous. The faint sound of someone chewing gum all the way at the back of the bus would be way more acceptable accompanied by a bit of distortion, or a guy shouting ‘Fuuuuck!’ and then pretending to throw up.”
