The Hugh Lane team joins with our communities who are grieving the loss of our dear friend, colleague and mentor Kathi Boyle. Kathi was an absolute force in the LGBTQ+ and HIV communities here in Pittsburgh putting in the work that laid the foundation for how we move and strive for change today. She was constantly there for those who needed her and a voice of reason and understanding at the table for all.
The innumerable people whose lives she touched will never forget her dedication, her knowledge, her kindness, but most of all her wit and humor that could center you in any moment. Kathi was a legend among us. Our team is so grateful to have worked with her as we started Hugh Lane. She helped us build community connections, was beloved by our youth in her facilitation of our AFFIRM series, and of course, started our senior group - Kathi's Rainbow Trailblazers.
While there will never be another Kathi Boyle, we will strive to carry on her legacy and embody everything she exemplified in our work. Our hearts go out to Betty Hill, their family and chosen family during this difficult time.
