The Naked Stark The Naked Stark is a West Philly modern dance company rooted in an intergenerational community.

The Naked Stark creates modern dance works, facilitates workshops, and engages in weekly movement practices that ask complex questions and spark imagination and discussion. Socially conscious, socially engaged, and socially critical, we strive to center how movement, community, and change are intimately interconnected. Our work is honest, human, and vulnerable and engages folks through participation,
physicality, and design.

Andy Thierauf, Sound Designer and Live Performer, is a Philadelphia-based percussionist specializing in the creation and performance of contemporary music and collaborating with The Naked Stark on various projects since 2017. His creative research centers on integrating technology into performance to produce collaborative, multimedia presentations with writers, dancers, actors, choreographers, and composers. Andy teaches at Music School and is an adjunct professor of percussion at Kutztown University. A native of Cincinnati, OH, Andy received his B.M. from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and M.M. from The Ohio State University. Andy received the D.M.A. degree in percussion performance and pedagogy at The University of Iowa under the direction of Dan Moore.

Meredith Stapleton, MFA recipient in Dance/Choreography from the University of Iowa, is a Philadelphia-based dance artist, yoga teacher, doula and childbirth educator working with The Naked Stark 2015-2017 and since 2022. Meredith currently teaches yoga at Temple University, and has taught dance at Muhlenberg College, Swarthmore College, and The University of Iowa, as well as Koresh School of Dance and Philadelphia Dance Academy. Meredith is the Member Coordinator and an Artist In Residence at .space where she maintains a solo dance practice, collaborates with , and organizes community gatherings. In Philadelphia since 2013, She has performed with , and .

Marcie Mamura is a Philadelphia-based artist, educator, and collaborator, working with The Naked Stark since 2022. She engages the intersections of health, humanities and the arts as Humanities Education Coordinator at Thomas Jefferson University. She earned a BA in Theatre/Dance from Kansas State University and an MFA in Dance from the University of Oregon. She is on the Director’s Team for Camp Sojourner Girls’ Leadership Camp. Marcie was a Lecturer in Dance at Muhlenberg College and Adjunct Faculty at Drexel University and a teaching artist with Girard College-Dream Camp, Asian Arts Initiative, Camp Sojourner Girls’ Leadership Camp, and Art Sanctuary/Opera Philadelphia. Her choreography has been presented in IL, MN, NC, and PA. She is a founding member of TRANSForm Dance collective.

Harlee Trautman is a Philadelphia-based dancer, choreographer, sculptor, puppeteer, working with The Naked Stark since 2017. Harlee is an artistic collaborator for Box and . Notable work has been presented at the American Dance Festival (NC), the Republic (LA), Mandell Theater (PA), Grounds for Sculpture (NJ), and displayed at Philadelphia International Airport. Harlee earned a BFA from Louisiana State University, is a Certified Teacher of Spiral Body Technique®, and has been a guest instructor at Temple University, Drexel University, and Bryn Mawr College.

Chloe Marie is a multi-disciplinary artist based on Lenni Lenape land that is Philadelphia, working with The Naked Stark since 2017. Chloe attended San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts and earned her BFA from The University of the Arts. Recent projects include: TERRA with Silvana Cardell and Lunar Retreat with Nichole Canuso. Chloe has shown work in Philadelphia, New York, Pittsburg, and Maine. Her work For Now was presented by Philadelphia Dance Project April 2025 and by the Jenkintown Festival of the Arts September 2025.

Amalia Colón-Nava is a Philadelphia-based multi-disciplinary artist and farmer, working with The Naked Stark since 2022. She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts and has eight years of professional experience performing locally and internationally. She joined as a co-worker and owner of Farm in 2021, an artist-run, cooperatively led, urban farm.
