Our suite of programs includes Moving Traditions B-Mitzvah Family Education Program for preteens and parents; Teen Groups for teens as they self-identify, with Rosh Hodesh for teen girls, Shevet for teen boys, Tzelem for LGBTQ+ teens, and Kulam for everyone; and the Kol Koleinu Teen Feminist Fellowship. Through the CultureShift initiative, Moving Traditions prepares camp leaders to train counselor

s to prevent sexual harassment and assault and to promote a culture of safety, respect, and equity at Jewish camp. Since it was established in 2005, Moving Traditions has emboldened more than 28,000 preteens and teens by partnering with more than 500 Jewish institutions across North America.

Meet Abby Z., one of Moving Traditions' 2026-2027 Meyer Gottesman Kol Koleinu Teen Feminist Fellows!

A junior from California, Abby is a competitive swimmer, student journalist, and dedicated volunteer who is excited to deepen her feminist knowledge while creating meaningful change in her community.

Earlier this week, we kicked off the area wide Moving Traditions DC Teaching Assistant Fellowship — what an opening! 🌟

36 incredible teen fellows are stepping into a full YEAR of leadership skill-building, learning how to be confident leaders in their own synagogue communities. And they weren't alone — they were joined by 100+ additional TAs for a one-day training packed with energy and community.

This program wouldn't be possible without our incredible collaborator: The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

A huge shoutout to Cantor Rebecca Robins for opening Temple Sinai's doors, hosting our teens, and coordinating the program💛.

Special thanks to Lisa Handelman who will be facilitating the year-long fellowship on behalf of Moving Traditions ✨.

Can't wait to watch these teens become leaders in their communities!

We are proud to announce the 2026–27 cohorts of Moving Traditions’ feminist fellowships!

From 16 states and Washington, D.C., 65 Jewish teens will come together this year to find community, explore their identities, strengthen their voices, and turn their ideas into action.

In jGirls+ Editorial & Photography Fellowship: 23 teen editors and photographers will develop their creative voices and collaborate on a magazine that reflects what it means to be a Jewish teen today.

In Kol Koleinu Feminist Fellowship: 42 fellows and teen leaders will explore Judaism, feminism, and activism while building the confidence and skills to create change in their communities.

Kumi Justice Retreats is still accepting applications.
