What an unforgettable day this past Sunday in the heart of Jenkintown as we celebrated our 150th anniversary with a meaningful tribute to our past, present, and future! 🌟

We gathered in Town Square for the Time Capsule Ceremony, where community members came together to preserve memories and stories for future generations. Congratulations to our essay contest winners from grades 1-4, Jack Keyser, 5-8, Sebastian Schippers, and 9-12, Laila Hatcher, who shared their inspiring visions for Jenkintown’s future and placed their essays in the time capsule. 🎓✨

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this day possible—our incredible volunteers, performers, and all the families and friends who joined us. Your energy and enthusiasm made this event truly special. 💖

In celebration of Jenkintown’s 150th anniversary, students in grades 1-12 are invited to enter the “What Jenkintown Means to Me” Essay Contest brought to you by the Jenkintown Community Alliance (JCA)! 📝🌟 This is a unique opportunity for our young community members to reflect on Jenkintown's past, present, and future.

Prizes: Gift cards to local businesses, a Jenkintown 150 T-shirt, and a $150 cash prize from the JCA for the Grades 9-12 winner. The winning essays will also be preserved in a time capsule for future generations! ✨

Grades 1-4: 100-250 words
Grades 5-8: 250-500 words

Be Part of History – Submit Your Ideas for the Jenkintown Time Capsule!

As we commemorate Jenkintown’s 150 years, we invite YOU to help shape the future by submitting items or ideas for our special Time Capsule! This capsule will be sealed at a special ceremony in Town Square on Jenkintown's actual birthday - December 8th, and reopened in the future, giving future generations a glimpse into life in 2024.

What to Submit?

Flat items are preferred: letters, photos, documents.
Small objects are accepted: items no larger than a Rubik's cube (2.25 x 2.25 inches).

How to Participate:

Fill out the form to suggest an item and explain why it represents Jenkintown in 2024. Make sure your submission reflects the spirit, people, or community of Jenkintown today!

Deadline for Submissions:
