As we look back over the past 20 years, what began as a local initiative of the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football Team grew into the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. Since then, the Foundation has helped support nearly 1,000 units of affordable and supportive housing, along with programs that address hunger in communities across the country, advancing our mission to provide safe, stable housing and improve access to food for thousands of people, including youth and veterans.

Today, we celebrate 20 years of breaking the cycle of hunger, poverty, and homelessness. Since 2006, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation has worked alongside partners and communities to create lasting solutions through food, affordable housing, social services, and job training. Here’s to 20 years of impact and continuing to build stronger communities together. 💙

2,977 lives were lost on September 11, 2001, and countless others were impacted by the toxic environment left behind. Today, we remember those who lost their lives, the families who lost loved ones, the first responders who answered the call, and those who continue to feel the lasting effects of that day.

We also honor the everyday heroes who stepped up when others needed them most. 25 years later, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and all those who continue to carry scars that may not always be visible.

The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation is proud to support Project HOME newly opened Hawthorne House Respite, a transformative initiative designed to provide a safe, supportive place for individuals experiencing homelessness to recover after a hospital stay.

As part of our ongoing partnership with Project HOME, the JBJ Soul Foundation helped fund the 20 respite beds that will serve individuals in need of short-term medical recovery and stabilization. We were honored to present our donation during Project HOME's 30th Anniversary Gala, celebrating three decades of their unwavering commitment to ending homelessness and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.

This week, our team joined hundreds of advocates, service providers, and leaders at the 2026 National Conference on Ending Homelessness in Washington, D.C. We had a great time learning, connecting with organizations from across the country, and sharing ideas. We’re excited to bring back new inspiration to help JBJ Soul Kitchen and the JBJ Soul Foundation continue building stronger communities and working toward ending homelessness.

Our team traveled to Philadelphia to visit with our long-time community partner, Project HOME. Their staff took us on tours of Sacred Heart Recovery Residence, the Inn of Amazing Mercy, and introduced us to the amazing team at Prevention Point. We are grateful to have been able to gain a deeper understanding of the needs within the community and learn more about the work being done to address them.

What an incredible honor.

JBJ Soul Foundation has been recognized with the 2026 James Beard Foundation Impact Award. When JBJ Soul Kitchen opened its doors in 2011, we set out to create more than a restaurant. We wanted to build a community where everyone has access to a healthy meal, where people are treated with dignity and respect. 15 years later, this recognition shines a light on the thousands of volunteers, guests, staff, and supporters who have made that mission possible. What does it look like to address food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty—all through a restaurant?

Meet one of the 2026 James Beard Impact Award honorees, Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.

In 2011, the organization expanded their mission by founding JBJ Soul Kitchen, a pay-it-forward restaurant where all guests can enjoy a chef-crafted, three-course menu, no matter if they can afford it. Paying guests are encouraged to donate enough to cover their meal and someone else's, while guests in need are invited to volunteer at JBJ Soul Kitchen. Community coordinators are also on-site to connect in-need guests to housing, mental health support, addiction services, employment, and more.
