The Sangeet Society is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, cultural organization based in the Delaware Valley of Greater Philadelphia, PA. The purpose of The Sangeet Society is to establish a cultural organization open to the general public to promote and foster an appreciation of Hindustani (North Indian) Classical music and dance, through concerts, classes, lectures, seminars, exhibits and other approp

riate means. The Sangeet Society is conducted by elected officers who are members of the community. The Society provides services for supporting the needs of Hindustani classical music to the community throughout the year. The Society serves to support and assist with any Hindustani Classical Music needs in this region.

Join us for a special evening of lecture and live performance with Dr. Suhail Yusuf Khan, Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Santa Cruz. Through both scholarship and sound, Dr. Khan explores the sarangi, Mirāsī musical lineages, and the social histories of North Indian classical music — followed by a live sarangi performance accompanied on tabla by Aqeel Bhatti.

Please consider supporting Lyle Wachovsky's GoFundMe page below. Lyle has been one of the preeminent exponents of recording the great masters of North Indian Classical Music over the past 30 years thru the efforts of his fantastic music label, India Archive Music (https://indiaarchivemusic.com/).

I personally have many of his recordings in my collection and each one is a treasure. The liner notes for each CD are a work of art in and of themselves and deserve a prominent place in your library, tastefully detailing the artists, their performance, and the ragas and talas.

Let's do what we can to keep this wonderful person and his incredible catalog available for generations to come.
