Our hearts are full of gratitude for the staff and volunteers who helped clean up the yard at Nonie’s Place. We appreciate everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and gave their time more than words can express. 💙

A special thank-you to Brittany Fryska, our neighbor, Josh, and the cutest supervisor we had for the day! Your help and kindness meant so much to us.

We’re also happy to share that power has been restored, and Nonie’s Place will reopen tomorrow! Thank you for your patience and support. We look forward to welcoming our families back. 🦋

Nonie’s Place will remain closed Tuesday, October 13, as we are still without power. Staff and volunteers will be onsite helping with cleanup.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience, especially during a time when support may be needed most. The losses a hurricane brings—whether to our homes, routines, or sense of security—can be difficult to process. Our hearts are with everyone affected. 💙

After thoughtful discussion, we have also decided to postpone the start of our W.A.V.E.S. support and connection group for mothers who have lost a child. The group will now begin in November.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as our community recovers together. We will continue to share updates here.

Nonie’s Place will be closed tomorrow, Monday, October 12, following Hurricane Isaias. 💙

We are grateful that our house sustained only minimal damage, but our hearts are with those in our community who have experienced far greater damage and loss.

We are thinking of you and your families as we navigate this difficult time together. We will keep everyone updated about reopening.

Please take care of yourselves and one another. 🦋

A gentle reminder that W.A.V.E.S. begins in October! 💙

W.A.V.E.S. is a support and connection group for mothers who have experienced the loss of a child. Each month will include a support group and a separate opportunity to connect with other mothers who understand this journey.

You do not have to walk through grief alone. To learn more or sign up, please call Janet Garrett at 850-328-4403.

We would be honored to welcome you. 🌊

💙 We are excited to introduce W.A.V.E.S. 💙

A new support and connection group created especially for mothers who have experienced the loss of a child.

Beginning October 2026, W.A.V.E.S. will offer mothers two opportunities each month to come together:

🌊 Support — A monthly support group providing a safe and understanding space to share, listen, and navigate grief alongside other mothers who understand.

🌊 Connection — A monthly gathering focused on simply being together and building meaningful connections with other mothers who have also experienced the loss of a child. Each month will feature a different activity and opportunity to connect.

Grief can come in waves, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. 💙

W.A.V.E.S. begins October 2026.

On August 30, National Grief Awareness Day recognizes the time it takes to heal from loss doesn't have a prescribed course and is a reminder closure comes in many forms. When a loved one dies, the void they leave affects everyone differently.
