Over and over again, God promises that he is the protector and that He will never leave or forsake us. Some say, if you have to do it alone, do it. But we are NEVER alone. We never have to do it alone. Abraham was tasked to leave his family and go where God was leading. He was never alone. And he is deemed the father of faith today. Wherever we go or whatever we confront, we are never alone. What do you want to start in your life that you fear you will fail at or will put you in a disadvantage or will put you on the outside of things? Where God is leading, you will never be on the outside of Him. You will never be alone.

Take the first step. One person on our team is a teacher. When she started out to be a teacher, she imagined herself as an elementary ESE teacher. She got her degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education. She took the first step in obedience to God. He called her to that profession, and she obeyed. Within three years, she was teaching high school math. A few years after that, she was teaching students in the adolescent psychiatric unit in Pensacola. Today she is training ESE teachers. She thought she would teach elementary students for the rest of her life. But in a few years, that changed drastically!! Often our first step looks nothing like where we are going to end up. Take the first step. Let God surprise you on the journey.

Jesus could have taken a shortcut. But, he allowed the long run. He could have gotten power, not the supernatural kind, but power. It was promised. But he allowed the long run, the supernatural power. He broke himself open and poured himself out. The long run will not look familiar. It doesn’t fit the mold. It’s supernatural. See the temptation of the shortcut.

The devil does not let up. If he can’t make you doubt yourself, he will try again. It is so important to know who you are as a child of God. You are His. His love, workmanship, plans, and purpose are all wrapped up in you. He is invested. And the darkness of this world wants us to doubt that. When He was challenged, Jesus didn’t have the need to prove anything. He knew who He was. He was secure in God’s love and purpose. He didn’t have to prove himself to the devil….and neither do you. You are His. End of story. You belong. You are worthy. You are loved. You are not alone. There is nothing left to prove. We pray for this journey of Christianity that you are on. We pray for a deepening relationship with the Holy Spirit, like a relationship that Jesus had with the Spirit. If you feel lonely or like you don’t belong, you can’t fake it until you make it. But you can dive down deeper to who He is. You can take your time in getting to know the whole Godhead and yourself. But know this for a fact:there is no need to prove yourself to anyone. You are accepted and you belong.

Jesus was just affirmed by God in his baptism. Then He is led to the desert to be tested. The devil’s ploy was to attack every affirmation. His job was to make Jesus doubt who He was and make Him think that He was less than and on the outside. He faced the enemy in a dry and empty place BUT knew who He was. He came out standing on God’s affirmation alone, not on how He proved himself or on man’s title. The enemy is still active today. He attacks us the same way. Many of us have been rejected so many times that we feel like less or like we don’t belong. We have all felt like this at some point. It’s a sting that goes deep. Do you know that we have a crisis in our country called emotional poverty? We live behind a mask because at one time we felt less than or like we don’t belong and it unregulated us. We don’t want to expose our unregulated emotions or mindset. But, as always!, Jesus has been through it. He knows how to get through it. He fought for us so that we can rely on Him. If there are areas of your life that you feel are off center, we are praying for you ❤️

For the season of Lent, we are reading from “The Sanctuary for Lent” by Josh Scott. The excerpt reads that our problems “ are the result of what happens when human beings eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When we take it upon ourselves, to judge, to decide who lives and who dies, who counts and who doesn’t, things get ugly in the world…. The good news, Paul argues, is that while the problems of the world are human products, so is the solution”. Adam and Eve caused our downfall, but Jesus brought salvation from that. “Instead of grasping the destructive fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, Jesus embraces vulnerability, and in doing so calls all human beings out of hiding. The question for us is, how do we want to be human: the Adam way or the Jesus way?” Today, receive mercy and show mercy to your fellow humans. We do not have to he hidden from one another ❤️

Friday 9-Saturday 9. Can we just say wow. We set this calendar in 2022 and look at God. Revival is holy because it brings us into the presence of God in a way we cannot deny. It goes beyond emotions. It goes beyond logic. However, we are filled up to pour out. We pray that revival changes us into the servants God intended us to be. We pray revival takes us there but that we also take it wherever we go. God is already ahead of us, leading us. Already. Let that be your prophetic word for your situation and for the upcoming year. Already. Thank you for following us.

Thursday 9-Friday 9 Hagar. She was used, abused, mistreated, and then cast out. It wasn’t right that Sarai used her. It wasn’t right for Hagar to be so smug and taunting. But, people are human, and we can all do trash things. And then when God extends His hand to us in a moment of grace, even in our mess, we know He is for us. He was for Sarah and Abraham. And He was for Hagar. He saved her and Ishmael from death and ENSURED her lineage would survive. And yet, here we are, thousands of years later still fighting. We are all precious in His sight, red and yellow, black and white. We grew up singing about it. The Palestinians, Israelites, Saudis, Iranians, Iraqis, etc, they are all precious in His sight. The Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. So, we pray for the active work on all sides to get to the goal of peace. Peace is a supernatural thing. If there was peace in the world right now- no wars- that would be a miracle. It will take God’s power, love and respect for one another, and willingness on both sides of any war for it to stop- or one side gets demolished. We pray against annihilation. We pray for peace. We pray for peace in the boundary lines. We pray peace for neighboring lands. We pray for the people. In war, people suffer. We pray for protection. We pray against the education of hate and pray for the education of solution. We pray God raises up solution makers. We also pray about the wars in other countries. Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine and Russia. There are SO MANY armed conflicts in so many countries in Africa. We call an end to violence. We call for the leaders to put ego behind them and their people before them. We pray they submit to the spirit of God.

Wednesday 9-Thursday 9. We are praying to break the strongholds that are over this area. We cannot break them with law or force or coercion. We break it with praying and fasting to change us so that we can be the difference makers. We fight against so many systems of oppression. Oppression keeps us low, powerless, ineffective. And, it keeps the land from knowing God. So we pray this fast has changed you. We pray that God speaks to you about how to be part of this godly force that will fight these things spiritually. We pray you continue to pray. We pray you continue to fast. We pray you obey the voice of God when he tells you what to say, how to move, where to go. We pray that we will fight these strongholds with you.
