New Era Creative Space NECS is a community-based enrichment center that empowers young people to explore the innate strength

New Era Creative Space (NECS) is a community-based organization with the mission of enriching children and adults through creative initiatives; including theatre, performance, dance, singing, painting, reading, science and more. NECS is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Fractured Atlas will receive grants for the purposes of NECS, provide oversight to ens

ure that grant funds are used in accordance with grant agreements, and provide reports as required by the grantor. Contributions for the purposes of NECS must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

We closed out Summer 2026 with one of our core values: joy. 💛

There was plenty of laughing, dancing, celebrating, and making memories with our campers and staff. This has been such a special summer, and we are so grateful for everyone who made it what it was.

We are especially grateful to the local businesses and organizations that welcomed our campers, shared in these experiences, and helped make this summer even more special.

We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again as our Fall programs start rolling out in September.

There’s a lot happening at NECS this fall! 💛

We’re excited to have Teaching Artist Valerie Light expanding her classes to include elementary students this year. Her new 3D Design class on Thursday afternoons combines drawing, conceptualizing, set design, and construction, giving students a chance to take an idea and build it into something real. 🎨

We also have some fun new classes happening this year, including Chess Lab, Music Makers, Theater Fun Club, and STEAM Adventures.

And that’s just some of what’s coming up!

A day outside!☀️🌿

This summer, our NECS campers spent a day with Keaton’s Kids, an organization that creates outdoor adventures and experiences for young people who may not always have access to them.

Their work is so important because getting out into nature gives kids a chance to explore, try new things, and experience the simple joy of being outdoors.🌳

Our campers had a great time swimming in the pool, taking nature walks, and enjoying a beautiful summer day together.

We’re so grateful to Keaton’s Kids for giving our campers the opportunity to get outside, have some fun, and make new summer memories!💚

This week, our Discover campers explored social justice by taking their ideas to the pavement. Through chalk art, they shared messages about learning from the past, embracing the present, and dreaming of a brighter future.

At NECS, we believe every voice matters. When young people are encouraged to express their hopes and ideas, they begin to see that they have the power to shape the world around them.
