A winter weather advisory from your friendly neighborhood ACO:

In light of the predicted heavy snowfall approaching our area here’s some helpful tips to keep your pets safe:
1- don’t leave your pets outside for extended periods of time. Some signs they are too cold are shivering, slow movement, lifting and holding paws off the ground, seeking warmth.
2- when you hit the grocery store for the bread and milk don’t forget the kibbles and bits! Make sure you have a few days worth of food and treats for your pets. Some chew toys are also a good idea.
3- make sure you have enough bottled water for your family including the furry and feathered ones.
4- pack a “go bag”. Have some supplies for your pets packed and ready in case you need to leave in an emergency.
5- Road salt can be painful on your dogs paws. Put boots on them to protect their paws.

Please remember that the nearest 24 hour emergency vet is approximately 30 minutes away on a normal day. Traveling to them in the snow may be almost impossible. Keep your pets (and yourself of course) safe during this storm.

After an amazing run as President of Friends of the Peekskill Dog Park, it’s time for me to pass the leash to our new President, Brian (Lincoln's Dad)!

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me and the park—I’m proud of all we’ve built together. I’ll still be around, just no longer leading the pack.

Hello everyone! The large side at the dog park is temporarily closed off for park maintenance! Per city DPW.

Until we can get the proper drainage in the large side and work is being done for the safety of dogs and owners we will have it temporarily closed.

Thank you for your patience, and all other sides of park are OPEN!

¡Hola a todos! El lado grande del parque para perros está cerrado temporalmente por mantenimiento. Según el Departamento de Obras Públicas de la ciudad.

Hasta que podamos instalar un drenaje adecuado en el lado grande y se realicen trabajos para la seguridad de los perros y sus dueños, lo mantendremos cerrado temporalmente.

Gracias por su paciencia. ¡El resto del parque está ABIERTO!

The Friends of the Peekskill Dog Park are holding a Neighborhood Cleanup Day this Sunday, April 27th, from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. All are welcome to participate to help maintain and beautify the dog park for the spring and summer months. For more information or questions, please email [email protected].

Nominations are now open for the Dog Park Board Election! If you’re passionate about our park and want to get involved, submit your nomination by February 25th at 5 PM.

The in-person election will be held on March 1st at 2 PM at a the dog park! Join us to cast your vote and help shape the future of our dog park!
