This is the Official page of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme. The BGCOP is a membership organization.

Established in 1954, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) youth service organization. The Mission of BGCOP is “to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential, as productive, responsible and caring citizens”. The BGCOP is a member of the national organization Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Annual member dues is $20.00 however, no one is turned away regardless of ability to pay. Two-thirds of our members are ages 8 to 13. Seventy percent are Hispanic/Latino, 10% African-American, 5% Caucasian, 3% Asian and 0.4% Native American. Of those members, 49% percent are girls and 51% are boys. Seventy-eight percent live in low-income families and qualify for reduced-price lunch programs. Sixty percent live in households headed by a single female. Services are provided in freestanding clubhouses in Oxnard and Port Hueneme and includes a dedicated Teen Center, 12 public school program sites, 1 satellite site in Nyeland Acres, 1 site at a Squires Public Housing, and the first Boys & Girls Club in a juvenile hall in the State of California. The BGCOP serves an additional 5,100 youth through community activities, sports and special initiatives.

We had a great time participating in Richard Bard Elementary HESD Trunk or Treat! 🎃 Of course, we had to decorate the BGCOP van, too!

A big thank-you to Principal Ms. Gomez-Perez for always being so supportive. We love working together and being part of fun community events like this!

Our Premier America BGCOP members enjoyed a fall day at McGrath Great Pacific Pumpkins Pumpkin Patch! They explored the patch, spotted all the different pumpkins, and took part in a fun scavenger hunt.

A little outdoor adventure, a little STEAM, and of course, everyone got to take home a pumpkin!

Nothing says fall quite like a day at the pumpkin patch! 🎃

Kindness looks good on our BGCOP family! ❤️

One of our favorite events of the year is celebrating the Kindness Ambassadors at all 12 of our sites! Our members and their families joined Kindness Coordinator Jennifer in taking the Kindness Pledge and celebrating the good character and citizenship we love to see in our Club members.

We also honored some amazing community Kindness Ambassadors who lead by example every day. Thank you to Mrs. Ingrid Loh, Andy Conli, CEO West Ventura County Business Alliance, Luis Mc Arthur , and Graciela Bautista, Community School Coordinator Fred L. Williams Elementary HESD, for showing our kids what kindness looks like in action!

Total Teen Takeover Tuesday: Haunted Harvest Edition!👻🎃

The HHS Teen Center was the place to be for Haunted Harvest! From the scare maze and costume contest to games, raffles, and Teen Late Night fun, our Keystone teens brought the energy!

Teens from Reiter, Port Hueneme and HHS came together for a night of spooky fun — and our Squires crew even brought some little buddies along to join in on the fun! We love seeing our big teens and little friends enjoying the night together. 🧡

This spooky gathering supported our Keystone teens as they fundraise for next year’s Keystone Conference. Huge shoutout to our teens and HHS staff for making it happen, and thank you to everyone who supported!

A huge thank you to Ventura Orthopedics for donating basketball jerseys to our Boys & Girls Club members! 🏀💙

Because of community partners like Ventura Orthopedics, our youth have the opportunity to represent their team with pride, build confidence, and strengthen their sense of belonging.

Through sports, our members learn valuable life skills like teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle.

Hi, my name is Elijah, and this is my Club story.

I’ve been coming to the Boys & Girls Club since I was six years old. The Club has become more than just a place I go after school. It feels like a second home - a place where I can have fun, learn, and be around people who care about me.

Growing up, I’ve had some challenges at home and in my life that sometimes made me worry a lot. When things felt hard, I knew I could come to the Club. The staff and other members always encouraged me, believed in me, and helped me keep going.

One of my favorite parts of the Club has been being in Torch Club. It taught me how to be a leader, be responsible, and help other people. I learned that being a good leader isn't just about being in charge. It's also about being there for others and helping your community.

Over the summer, before I started sixth grade, I had a really special moment. I received a blue rope that says "Future Ready.” To me, that rope shows how much I’ve grown and everything I’ve learned at the Club.

Whenever I see it, I remember that I always have a place where I belong. I know I have people at the Club who care about me, support me, and believe in me.

The Boys & Girls Club has helped me become stronger, kinder, and more confident. I know that when things get hard, I don’t have to face them alone. I can keep trying, stay positive, and keep working toward my future. 💙

It's Total Teen Takeover Tuesday, and our teens led the way with amazing results! 🌟

Teens from the Harriet H. Samuelsson Teen Center, Port Hueneme Teen Center, and Reiter Family Youth Center took the lead in designing and organizing the Stay Clear, Stay in Control Cannabis Prevention Forum. Partnering with Ventura County Public Health, the forum educated youth and families about cannabis prevention, promoted healthy decision-making, amplified youth voices, and connected attendees with valuable community resources.

Keynote speaker and former NFL player, Ronney Jenkins, shared his personal story and experiences. Participants also enjoyed youth-led activities, including a self-care talk, sound bath, wellness stations, interactive games, prizes, food, and raffles, all designed to spark awareness and conversation around healthy choices.

The event ended with a recognition of our youth planning committee members for their leadership, dedication, and significant contributions. Their efforts created an impactful experience for youth and families and strengthened prevention awareness across our community. Thank you, teens! 💙
