Big announcement coming soon!
Perhaps our greatest achievement restoring nature in the city to date has been installing this MiniNature Reserve at the Oxnard Public Library.
A little over two months after this garden was installed, we can already see nature reclaiming its rightful space in . Native strawberries are ripening, dark eyed juncos are scavenging, and painted ladies are feeding on the wildflowers. And now just before summer, a beautiful addition to the garden is on its way that will help future generations appreciate its importance. Keep following our page, to learn what it is.
This garden was a joint effort between , and .
spread cover mulch donated by . And Parks staff removed the old struggling shrubs.
Plants were sourced from local nurseries including , , Valley Growers Nursery, and . and seeds for wildflowers come from
And of course we can't forget all of the volunteers who participated in the planting, hand watering, and advocacy of this garden.
