Today is the final day of our fundraiser, and we need your help.

Shelter Care Resources is ending the grant year short on funds. We have already made difficult cuts and reduced services because of rising costs, but we still need support to keep operating.

Donations help us pay for rent, utilities, staff, and the everyday expenses that allow us to serve children and families in our community.

This has been a hard season. Rising costs have forced us to make painful changes, including closing our A Street food pantry and our hygiene closet. We have scaled back, restructured, and done everything we can to continue forward in a sustainable way.

💙 Important Update Regarding Our A Street Food Pantry & Diaper Distribution

After much prayer and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our monthly A Street Food Pantry and Diaper Distribution at The Hatch.

Unfortunately, due to rising insurance costs associated with operating the program at that location, it is no longer financially sustainable for our nonprofit to continue offering these services there.

This was not an easy decision. We know many families have relied on this pantry and diaper distribution, and we are grateful for the opportunity we have had to serve our community through this program.

While the A Street Food Pantry is coming to an end, our Friday Food Pantry at Calvary Chapel Oxnard will continue to serve families each week.

We want to thank our volunteers, donors, community partners, and the many families who have been part of Shelter Care Resources over the years. Your support has allowed us to help thousands of individuals and families in our community.

A quick weekend reminder: Shelter Care Resources is in the middle of our flash fundraiser, and we still need your help.

As we come to the end of our grant year, we are short on funds and working hard to keep our doors open and our most essential services running.

Like many small nonprofits, we’ve had to make difficult changes due to rising costs. We’ve already restructured, closed programs, and downsized to the basics. But we are still here, still serving, and still showing up for local children and families.

Your donation helps cover the real costs of keeping this work going, including rent, utilities, staffing, and operations.

We want to be honest with our community: Shelter Care Resources is ending the grant year short on funds, and we need your help.

Due to rising costs, we have already had to make painful changes. We closed our A Street food pantry. We closed our hygiene closet that was located two doors down from our office. We have scaled back and restructured in order to hold on to the most essential services.

We are doing everything we can to keep going, but we cannot do it alone.

It takes funding to keep our doors open. Rent, bills, staff, and daily operating expenses are all part of what keeps this mission moving forward. And right now, we need our community to step in and help us close the gap.

Come volunteer with us at the CCO Food Pantry! We serve local families every Friday and are always looking for extra help.

You don’t have to volunteer every week — we appreciate any time you can give.

We also welcome:
✔️ School & college clubs
✔️ Church groups
✔️ Employee volunteer teams
✔️ Community organizations
✔️ Friend groups looking to serve together

🕝 Fridays (closed-toe shoes required):
• 2:30 PM – Setup
• 3:00 PM – Food bagging
• 4:00 PM – Registration
• 5:00–6:30 PM – Distribution
