It was an exciting night at Mariandale, hosting the Westchester Land Trust's Hope on the Hudson Gala.

The Dominican Sisters of Hope, who sponsor the Center at Mariandale as a ministry, received the Preservation Award from the Westchester Land Trust for their work in preserving half of the acreage at The Center at Mariandale into the future. Even a surprising blow-up storm from the Hudson couldn't stop the celebration!

The The New York Community Trust's story on the relationship developing between Lenape indigenous and the Dominican Sisters of Hope, with videos from their visit. Immersion retreats have shone a light on their common interests and priorities for the land.

Founded in 1995, the Dominican Sisters of Hope is a congregation of more than 80 Catholic nuns dedicated to social justice. Its offices at the Center at Mariandale in Ossining, NY, are situated on 61 acres of Lenape ancestral land on the banks of the Hudson River.
