Our UPK and Older 3’s students got in on the Election Day fun by holding their very own elections!

Our UPK students voted for their favorite snacks, while our Older 3’s students cast their votes on whether they wanted to play in the gym or outside.

The children practiced making choices, sharing their opinions, and learning about the voting process in a fun and hands-on way. It was a wonderful opportunity to introduce our little citizens to the importance of having a voice and making decisions!

We love seeing our students learn through play and meaningful experiences!

What a fun time was had by all at OCC’s Annual Halloween Parade! 🎃

The children and staff got into the Halloween spirit with some amazing and creative costumes. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the festivities!

A big thank-you to all of our families who came out to watch and celebrate with us. We loved sharing this special Halloween tradition with you!

Yesterday, we had a special visit from the Ossining Fire Department! The firefighters brought Sparky the Fire Dog to teach the children about fire safety.

Each child had the opportunity to sit in the fire truck and explore the many tools and pieces of equipment on board. The children were excited to learn about the important work firefighters do to keep our community safe.

A wonderful time was had by all! We would like to thank the Ossining Fire Department for taking the time to visit OCC and share this fun and educational experience with our children.

🍂 OCC Celebrates Fall at Our Annual Fall Festival! 🎃

OCC celebrated the beauty of fall this week with our annual Fall Festival, and what a wonderful day it was!

The children enjoyed a variety of fun fall activities, including face painting, apple tasting, pumpkin decorating, and creating their very own scarecrow crafts. The weather was beautiful, making it the perfect day to celebrate the season together!

The highlight of the day was a special visit from the Ossining High School Marching Band! The band performed about six songs, and the children had a blast dancing, clapping, and enjoying the music. After the performance, the children even had the opportunity to get a closer look at some of the instruments and try playing them!

It was a fantastic day filled with music, creativity, laughter, and lots of fall fun. A wonderful time was had by our children and staff!

A huge thank-you to the Ossining High School Marching Band for sharing their time and talent with us and helping make our Fall Festival so special!

OCC’s UPK 1 and UPK 2 had a fabulous time visiting Theater O yesterday! The children had so much fun participating in the Fairytale Theater Program, where they get to read, act out, and bring their favorite stories to life.

Yesterday was the first of six exciting sessions the children will participate in throughout the school year. We can’t wait to see what stories and adventures are in store for them!

What a wonderful way to encourage creativity, imagination, confidence, and a love of storytelling!

This past Friday, OCC had the pleasure of honoring Claudia Berk at the Child Care Council’s Early Education Hall of Heroes event.

The Early Education Hall of Heroes recognizes exceptional child care and after-school professionals and highlights the incredible importance and impact of high-quality early childhood education and care.

Claudia was one of just 10 professionals honored at this special event, celebrating her 43 years of dedication to children, families, and educators.

We are so proud to celebrate Claudia and all that she has contributed to our OCC community and to the field of early childhood education. Her dedication, passion, and commitment have made a lasting impact on so many lives.

Please join us in congratulating Claudia on this very well-deserved honor!

Our Older 3’s had the BEST time visiting Stuart’s Farm in Yorktown! 🌳🍎 The children explored the farm, learned about one of the farm’s original apple sorters—which separates the smaller apples used to make delicious apple cider—and of course, picked some apples of their own!

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to enjoy the farm, spend time with friends, and make some wonderful memories. ❤️

And let’s be honest… nothing beats a freshly picked apple enjoyed on a beautiful fall day! 🍎☀️😊
