Y’all didn’t think we forgot about our alums who received scholarships did you? It’s thankful Tuesday! We are thankful that our girls become alums who stay connected, show up for the girls and give back. And we know, when you give, it shall come back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. So much favor in the room!

We are proud to celebrate alums Ciara Cummings (‘13) and Tia Humphries (‘16) on their EMMY award achievements. Tia received her first EMMY in the category of outstanding breaking news coverage as a field producer with ABC News while Ciara earned three EMMY awards in the categories of journalistic enterprise, health/medical news, and societal concerns with Atlanta News First, making her now a ten-time EMMY award winning journalist! These remarkable accomplishments are a testament to their talent, dedication and professionalism. We celebrate you both and thank you for showing our girls what representing excellence looks like. Keep up the great work and keep on shining. You both inspire all of us.

Celebrating our girls at Rolling Hills Elementary School as they take part in the 5th grade promotion ceremony! What an incredible year it has been watching these girls grow in confidence, character and leadership. As they close this chapter and prepare for the next, we are reminded that their futures are bright and filled with endless possibilities. Special thanks to Ms. Jackson for leading the bi-weekly after school “power hours” and “shout out” to alums Mia McKenzie (‘16) and Autumn Johnson (‘20) for assisting her and being examples of what it means to give back. Congratulations girls! Your LANES family wishes you a wonderful summer and will be cheering you on every step of the way to middle school.

Breaking news!
Yesterday we awarded an incredible $44,900 in scholarships at our 22nd Annual Evelyn Pitts Dallas Memorial Scholarship Luncheon! The entire class of 2026 was celebrated in a beautiful program, filled with love, pride and unforgettable moments as seniors and alums received scholarships and recognition for their achievements.
The program featured inspiring performances from the LANES Chorale and alum Chloe Hogan and included alums Jasmine Styles who served as the emcee, Serenitye Taylor who gave the invocation and Stephanie Laferriere Greer who gave a heartfelt and empowering charge to the class of 2026.

The excitement is overflowing because our annual scholarship luncheon is officially SOLD OUT!
It's bittersweet. Bitter because we wish we could accommodate everyone who wanted to attend, but sweet because our seniors will walk into a room filled to capacity with people cheering them on, celebrating their accomplishments, and surrounding them with love and support as they prepare for their next chapter.
Thanks to everyone who support and believe in our girls. It's going to be a truly special event!
