🧵 Learning life skills, one stitch at a time! 🧵 As part of Omaha Street School’s vocational program, our students are learning how to sew and putting their new skills to work by making adult bibs for residents in a memory care facility.

Along the way, they’re practicing patience, problem-solving, and attention to detail while discovering how their work can meet a need in our community. ❤️

Two classes. One shared mission: caring for our neighbors. 💙As part of project-based learning at Omaha Street School, two instructors brought their classes together for a supply drive benefiting people served by Open Door Mission.

Clothing and backpacks went to Lydia House, and food donations went to the Timberlake Outreach Center.

We’re proud of our students for putting learning into action and helping meet practical needs in our community!

✅ 2 days each week: CNA training at Fulton Homes Education Center
✅ 1 day each week: Life skills and additional training at Omaha Street School, plus visits to healthcare facilities to explore careers and workplace expectations

🎃 Creativity is in full swing at Omaha Street School!

Our Leadership class got into the fall spirit with some pumpkin carving! For some students, it was their very first time carving a pumpkin, and they certainly didn’t disappoint! 🎃

We love seeing our students try new things, express their creativity, and have fun together. Check out their amazing creations!

Most of our students arrive at Omaha Street School believing graduation is impossible. They've struggled in traditional high schools. Their average GPA was 0.90.

Then something changes. This past year, those same students averaged a 2.83 GPA with us. 100% of our eligible seniors graduated. Many also earned industry certifications, like CNA, that lead to real jobs.

💙 Meet Kamilah Bradford, MSW, PLMHP — School-Based Counselor at Omaha Street School!

Kamilah works with our students individually and in groups, providing academic, social-emotional, and professional support as they navigate high school and prepare for what comes next.

What she loves about Omaha Street School is the opportunity to serve students in a faith-based environment where she can freely share her love for God while caring for and encouraging each student.

Kamilah is passionate about walking alongside our students and helping guide them toward becoming successful, confident, and well-balanced adults.
