Abide Omaha

Abide Omaha Abide's mission is to revitalize the inner-city one neighborhood at a time!

October is getting close.

Training is ramping up. The gear is coming together. And five Omaha leaders are getting ready to climb Mount Kilimanjaro — each step helping fund a new Lighthouse in North Omaha.

Five leaders. Different backgrounds. Different careers. One purpose: to help build a city where people choose to live on purpose and love their neighbor.

The climb is about more than reaching the summit. It’s about asking a question we want every person in Omaha to consider: How do I love my neighbor, right where I live?

We’d love for you to join us on the journey.

It started as a conversation between Josh and Jon, and now has turned to a climb with a purpose.

The idea was simple: create something unique that could cast vision for Abide and invite others into the mission. That conversation sparked what is now a journey up Mount Kilimanjaro to fund new Lighthouses in North Omaha.

Every step is helping create opportunities for stronger families, thriving neighborhoods, and lasting impact for generations to come.

Loving your neighbor isn’t just another program, it’s a way of life.

Jon Campbell has chosen to live among the people he wants to serve in North Omaha. Now he’s taking that same commitment one step further.

This October, Jon is one of five leaders climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to help fund 5 new Lighthouses in North Omaha.

This October, our CEO Josh Dotzler and four other Omaha leaders are climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, together on purpose.

Fourteen years ago, Jon Campbell moved his family into North Omaha. Not because they had to but because he felt hooked by God on this neighborhood. A few years in, Jon found what we call a Lighthouse: a real home, bought and renovated, where a trusted family lives in the neighborhood on purpose and loves their neighbors well.

That’s what this climb is funding. Jon, Josh, and three other leaders are climbing to build five new Lighthouses in North Omaha.

From uncertainty to purpose. 💙

What started with questions quickly became a calling for Jon Campbell. He and his family moved into a North Omaha neighborhood to love their neighbors and invest in the community for 14 years.

Now, with that same “yes”, Jon is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this October to help raise money for 5 new Lighthouses. You’ll want to hear his story – link in bio.

Meet the Climber: Jon Campbell

In October, five Abide leaders will climb Mount Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest mountain – to help build five new Lighthouse homes right here in North Omaha.

Jon Campbell is one of them.

As an Abide board member and owner of Thrive Street Living, Jon is a third-generation real estate owner who has seen firsthand what a single home can do for a block. Abide’s Lighthouse are homes where families are placed in the neighborhoods they serve – creating safer, stronger and more connected communities.
