Spotted so many butterflies yesterday when it was so warm. Bees having a good time, too. If the Monarchs don't pack their bags and head to Mexico then they might not get there as first frost looks to be coming on Friday. The garden spider on 38th Street will be needing a sweater, too.

Very good JCNA Board meeting tonight. Recapping fall cleanup of Clarkson Park and last Saturday's Dumpster Day. Brainstorming tweaks for next time around. Also discussed plans for the December annual Holiday Party at the Castle. Need someone to cover the MNA meetings.

John Davis brought cookies that were still warm. New Business Member, Asia Sladek of Sladek Pychotherapy on Cuming Street and April and Jacob from Terrapin Station on Davenport Street joined the meeting tonight.

Took a walk to collect the Dumpster Day signs and popped in the check out the art exhibit at Cali Commons. Wow! Really impressed by Cindy Collins artwork. You can still see it in person tomorrow Sunday, October 11th, noon to 5 pm.

Hot and windy Dumpster Day today and many thanks to our board member and resident volunteers who helped set up, direct traffic, greet vehicles and clean up afterwards. The City could not offer to take your junk for free if your fellow neighbors didn't pitch in to run it. Your membership dues help to pay for the pizzas and the portable toilet, the gloves, vests and first aid kit. The added donations from people dropping off their junk also helped. One person came back with bags of cans of cold sodas and iced tea!
