Why wouldn’t the government want you to better understand the risks of alcohol consumption on health? The feds buried this scientific study and instead made those recommendations vague. People will die as a result.

Researchers found NO protective effect of alcohol on health at any level of consumption. The study found increased risks of alcohol-attributable illness and death starting at levels often considered "moderate."

What does this mean for you if you drink? At 1 drink/day, your risk of dying is about 1 in 1,000. At 8.5 drinks per week, the risk rises to about 1 in 100. For men who consume 14 drinks per week, the risk increases to roughly 1 in 25.

Due to ambiguous new guidance, people aren't going to know that cutting back from 21 to 14 drinks/week still puts them at significant risk of dying from their consumption. Guidelines are meant to educate the public, not mandate good behavior.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to estimate the lifetime risk of alcohol-attributable mortality and morbidity in the United States based on a person’s average lifetime weekly alcohol consumption to assess the impact of per-occasion alcohol consumption on health. Method: Lifetime risks wer...

Nebraska consistently ranks among the nation's highest binge-drinking states. Excessive drinking increases the risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke, injuries, violence, & impaired driving. When alcohol is cheap, widely available, and heavily promoted, communities pay the price.

Turning college athletics into a larger platform for alcohol marketing sends the wrong message to students & young adults who are already heavily targeted by the alcohol industry.
