Project Extra Mile Project Extra Mile's mission is to advocate for evidence-based policies and practices to prevent and reduce alcohol-related harms.

Community organizing is the foundation of our efforts in preventing excessive alcohol consumption and the related harms. Our work is focused on policy initiatives, enforcement collaborations, media advocacy, education and awareness, and youth leadership.

It is our hope that other organizations will follow in rethinking their use of alcohol as a fundraiser given its connection to cancer as well as its enormous social and economic costs.

The American Cancer Society had an optics problem: its annual Wine and Spirits Industry's Gala. It decided to do something about it.
