Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience and progress.

Our Bruce Fellman North Omaha Boys & Girls Club members recently took part in an inspiring national art initiative with Portraits of Hope for โ€œAmerica Shines on The National Mall,โ€ a celebration honoring the United States 250th anniversary.

As part of the national project, our members participated by painting oversized buoy lanterns that will be displayed across the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on the National Mall in Washington D.C. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

As part of theRide, a 2,000-mile cycling journey from Mexico to Canada, Matt King and the Gobundance team are traveling across the country to restore hope and create immediate impact in the communities they visit.

When their journey brought them through Omaha, they stopped at our Millard Central Boys & Girls Club with an incredible surprise for our members: 150 pairs of brand-new shoes and a shaved ice truck to help kick off a fun day at the Club.

Thank you, Matt King and Gobundance, for choosing to invest in our young people and helping create brighter futures, one mile at a time. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿšด
