Today we say farewell to someone who has poured her whole heart into our mission. ❤️

Kelly Morris, our incredible Greater Omaha Heart and Stroke Walk and Omaha Hard Hats with Heart director, is closing her chapter with the American Heart Association—and what a legacy she leaves behind.

With her strong ability to connect, via in person or online, her strategic ideas and strong accountability strength, Kelly has inspired us, challenged us and made us better. The impact she’s made on this community—and on each of us—will be felt for years to come.

Kelly, we are cheering you on as your enter your next chapter! Please don’t be a stranger—you’ll always be part of this family.

Recovering from a stroke doesn’t end when you leave the hospital, which is why the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline Stroke project focused on helping rehabilitation facilities across the state develop stroke-specific programs to improve outcomes for patients. Post-acute care facilities can now benefit from coordinated, guideline-driven care recommendations that seek to ensure that no matter where you live in Nebraska, you have the opportunity to survive and thrive after stroke.

This work was made possible by a foundational gift from Helmsley Charitable Trust, and we are so grateful for the investments they’ve made in stroke care across our state, improving outcomes for stroke patients everywhere.
