April was a meaningful month of service as we celebrated National Volunteer Month and Earth Month at Mutual of Omaha. Giving back is central to who we are—and our employees continue to bring that commitment to life in powerful ways.

Throughout April, employees contributed more than 1,700 volunteer hours, supporting causes they care about across multiple states. With company-supported opportunities to volunteer during the workday—alongside time given outside of work—our teams showed up for their communities and the planet.

As part of Earth Month, we were proud to partner with Keep Omaha Beautiful, rolling up our sleeves in both Levi Carter Park and Fontenelle Park. At Levi Carter Park alone, volunteers collected more than 800 pounds of trash, helping create cleaner, safer green spaces for the community to enjoy.

We are grateful for our employees’ passion and dedication—and proud to support a culture where giving back is part of how we work every day.

Spring cleaning came early at QLI! 🌱

Our Mutual of Omaha team had a great time volunteering. More importantly, we were grateful for the opportunity to support the incredible work QLI does every day for individuals recovering from spinal cord and brain injuries.

During the first two weeks of this month, Mutual of Omaha associates came together to donate coats, hats, gloves, and other winter essentials to support participants in Heartland Family Service programs.

Heartland captured this video, highlighting employee volunteers organizing and preparing donations for delivery - turning generosity into impact and helping ensure neighbors across our community have what they need to stay warm this season.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered your time. Your generosity truly makes a difference in our community.

This week, more than 30 members of Mutual’s Investment Management team came together to give back to the community and spread some holiday cheer. In less than 90 minutes, they organized and assembled more than 500 care kits for Youth Emergency Services (YES)—and they had a blast doing it! Some even rocked festive holiday outfits to make the day extra bright.

These kits are filled with essentials and will go to youth in the Omaha metro area who are experiencing homelessness - a reminder that they’re cared for and supported. 💛

Mutual of Omaha and the Mutual of Omaha Foundation are proud to support YES in their mission to provide safety, shelter, and hope for youth facing tough circumstances. We’ve partnered with YES for many years through volunteer projects, grants, and ongoing support—and this effort is another great example of our associates living our values.

This morning, our Foundation team enjoyed volunteering at the Nebraska Diaper Bank.
Our busy crew packed 7,000+ diapers which will serve nearly 120 babies!

Congratulations to The Collective for Hope on the groundbreaking of their new Grief Center!

Their commitment to ensuring no one grieves alone continues to touch so many lives. As Grayson Valdez shared in the news story:
"I was scared. I was worried about what would happen in the future—until I met the Collective for Hope grief group."

This new space will offer comfort, healing, and connection for those navigating loss. We’re honored to support this incredible work and be part of a community that believes in the power of hope.

Once completed it will be Omaha's first and only center dedicated to handling grief.

Our relationship with the TeamMates Mentoring Program spans more than two decades—a partnership rooted in a shared mission to support and empower young people. Even during the summer, TeamMates continues to foster meaningful connections between mentors and mentees—and right now, more than 500 youth are waiting for a mentor.

There are no better voices to share the importance of getting in the game than TeamMates CEO DeMoine Adams and the students whose lives have been shaped by mentorship. Hear directly from them in this short video.
