💊 Thank you to everyone who showed up to the FENT Class night hosted by Medical Center Health System. Jess held a great class as always! 19 teens and parents received education on fentanyl, vapes, ma*****na and so many other issues our families are facing these days. All attendees received Narcan and instructions on how to use it. If you are interested in attending this class that is free to the community, the next class will be held Monday, September 21st. 📌This week’s opportunities!

Tonight is the FENT Class from 6-8pm at the Texas Tech Community Center. Please see flyer for details. This class is mandatory for to***co citations, but is an option for ANY teen/parent in the community.

Saturday is the monthly food pantry distribution for Westminster Presbyterian Church from 9am-1pm. Please see flyer for details.

As with ALL events - dress appropriately, bring your community service log to be signed and be respectful! 📌

🗑️ This last Saturday was a special one for us! 6 years ago this month, Odessa Teen Court began gathering at least once a month to clean up lots around our community.

This Saturday we had 32 teens gather to get the location just west of Hays STEAM Academy cleaned up, THEN we had 14 of those meet over on Grandview just east of the Social Security Administration Building to get that lot cleaned up. 55 bags of trash were removed from these locations.

A sincere thanks to everyone who has ever shown up for a trash pick up date with us! If you are interested in joining us, the next date will be Saturday, September 19th..time and location will be announced when it gets closer! 🗑️

Tuesday, August 18th is the Odessa Police Department’s CRASE Training at their monthly Neighborhood Watch Meeting, and Saturday, August 22nd is our monthly lot clean up at the lot west of Hays STEAM Academy. Neighborhood Watch Meeting – CRASE Training

Join OPD for the next Neighborhood Watch Meeting on Tuesday, August 18th at 6pm in the Sherwood Park Community Center, located at 4819 N. Everglade Ave. A Civilian Response to an Active Shooter Event (C.R.A.S.E.) training will be taught. C.R.A.S.E. training courses are conducted by OPD on a regular basis for businesses and churches seeking more knowledge about how to prepare for an active shooter situation. They also provide an assessment of where you stand in terms of preparation and what steps you can take to improve overall safety. We hope to see you there!

Jessica Aguilar, RN, Clinical Coordinator - Trauma Services

Jessica is a Clinical Coordinator in Trauma Services who has been with MCH for more than 10 years. She is an incredible educator who really cares about her work. Jessica's goal is to teach the entire region about trauma and safety, and she's willing to travel far to do it. She works long hours and is always available to get the job done. Jessica also organizes community events that promote health and safety. Her passion for education shows in every event, and she makes sure everyone get reliable and engaging information. Jessica represents MCH with professionalism, knowledge, and compassion. She truly embodies our mission and values.

Remember that Meals On Wheels of Odessa - MOWO is always double community service hours because it can only be done when school is not in session (you can not skip school to do hours!)
