Every Easter, the ladies of the Professional Women In Building will hold a donation drive for the children of Midland Fair Havens. Their donation provides Easter buckets, candy, toys, stuffed eggs, and more! 🐰

Gary Kahler believed in giving back to the community and regularly gave his time, knowledge, and other resources to several organizations. 🏡

Thank you to all who continue to help keep his legacy alive by volunteering and giving to these quarterly donations. 💗

Reflecting back on past GKMS events!

In 2018 and 2019 The Professional Women in Building held an event called Trick Or Trot 5k Run 🎃

Both years turned out to be a BIG success for fundraising for the Gary Kahler Memorial Scholarships! Over $20k were raised at EACH event. 🤩

These are the events are our largest event of the year. All proceeds go directly to our scholarship applicants. 🎓

This year, will not be having a 5k Run.......
⛳ BUT WE WILL BE HOSTING OUR FIRST ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT ⛳

How did the Gary Kahler Scholarship come about? And who is Gary Kahler?

Gary and Linda Kahler started building custom homes in 1979. It was in 1981 that Gary moved his company to Midland, Texas. The Kahler's philosophy regarding customer satisfaction is to go the second mile to ensure Kahler Homes has done everything possible to provide quality service along with quality construction. This commitment to quality is why Kahler Homes has thrived and continues its success today. 🙌

Gary Kahler was the third President of the Permian Basin Builders Association (PBBA). Gary’s integrity permeated his company where quality construction and client satisfaction were highly valued. He also believed in giving back to the community and regularly gave his time, knowledge, and other resources to several organizations including: Habitat for Humanity, Midland FairHaven, and Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief. 🔨

After his passing in 2011, the PBBA Scholarship Program was renamed the “Gary Kahler Memorial Scholarship” in his honor. 🎓

The fund provides scholarships each semester to students who graduate from within the 14-county PBBA jurisdiction. Scholarships are awarded to deserving college/trade school bound students, especially those seeking higher education in a construction related field.
