While returning from a call Saturday night during the snowstorm, the crew of Engine 5 noticed a dog - they called him Snowball - running around loose on Novi Road and into the Novi Post Office parking lot with his leash still attached .

The crew of E-5 immediately turned around and was ultimately able to catch up to him at the Post Office. He was cold and snow covered; however, PFF Adam Robinson comforted 'Snowball' while the E-5 crew searched for his owner.

After a short while, the E-5 crew was able to reunite 'Snowball' with his owner.

To all those who served, “all gave some but some gave all”

Today, we remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom and democracy. Whether they were immigrants, first generation Americans, 7th generation Americans, or everything in between and beyond - their sacrifice was not in vain and has allowed afforded us the opportunity to honor and celebrate, have parades, and be with friends and family.

If you are at the City of Novi parade, look for our Tower and newest, Engine 1. We are also accompanied by our amazing ambulance medic crew, MedStar EMS.

We wish you a happy Memorial Day! Please be safe as you celebrate today and tonight. But please remember, we are only on call away - you have our number

Dangerous Weather Imminent:

High winds are expected to be moving into the area around 6:45pm with winds exceeding 65 mph.

Please seek shelter!

As a reminder:
1) Do not touch downed power lines. For your safety, call us to investigate!
2) If any trees cause damage to power or gas, call us immediately!
3) Safety is paramount - if damage caused by debris or trees and poses an immediate threat to life or limb, call us immediately to help mitigate the problem. NOTE: we cannot remove trees that have fallen on houses unless there is immediate threat to life or limb. Our crews will investigate and keep you apprised of what is learned. In most cases, this will be a homeowners insurance

Lastly, if you are injured or unsure about any of the above, give us a call and will respond to your location. You have our number!

On January 28th Novi Fire was dispatched for a call of Smoke coming from the roof of a building. Upon arrival crews found a working structure fire in the middle occupancy of a commercial strip mall. Crews worked to Extinguish the fire as well as check the additional units for any fire extension. While checking an adjacent veterinary clinic crews found a cat that was in a cage. The cat was removed from the structure with no apparent health issues from the smoke. On Tuesday the clinic sent over this card along with some treats. We were glad to hear that "Rhonda" was doing well and are always happy to be of service. Special thanks to Northville City FD for providing mutual aid to the scene as well as Walled Lake for city coverage.
