Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh - Michigan Chapter Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) USA is a voluntary, non-profit, social and cultural organization. https://www.facebook.com/pg/hssus/about/

Sangh, as the organization is popularly known, aims to preserve, practice and promote Hindu values. HSS conducts structured programs of regular athletic and academic activities to develop strong character and leadership skills in its members (known as swayamsevaks for men and sevikas for women), emphasizing values such as self-discipline, self-confidence and a spirit of selfless service (seva) for

humanity. Through its weekly program known as 'Shakha' (a branch in Sanskrit), HSS aims to provide a fun-filled atmosphere. A weekly Shakha is typically 90 minutes in duration and has programs for all age groups. Children's program in Shakha is also called 'Balagokulam' and includes shlokas, games, songs, yoga, stories, and arts and crafts. Programs for adults include yoga, games, discussions etc.Apart from the weekly Shakha, HSS also conducts other programs for the larger community.

Namaste. Sewa Diwali - Michigan chapter along with Sharadamba temple, Farmington Hills donated first round at Farmington Cares food bank at a combined event held at Shardaamba temple today evening. In total we donated 1500Lbs on behalf of Sewa Diwali org. This is our first round of donation out of the four orgs which we plan to donate 👏🏻🙏🏻
We were honored by presence of Farmington Hills city mayor, Theresa Rich and Farmington Cares food bank reps: Kitty and Todd to receive the donations. Lachit Shakha is standing at 3200Lbs collection so far out of which 1500Lbs is donated last night
Remaining 700Lbs needs to go to Detroit Public Schools and 1100Lbs needs to be devided and distributed to ISSO, Pontiac and ISKCON Detroit.

Lots of efforts have been put in place by our Karyakarthas from Sewa Diwali team. They set up a table at SV temple to collect food🙏🏻

HSS, Lachit Shaka Novi conducted its International Yoga Day at Sharadamba temple.

We had around 40 participants attending the yoga with the purpose of

"Yoga is the journey of self through the shelf to the shelf."

We started the event with a fun quiz relating to yoga by our sevika Gnana ji Yoga session started with a crisp warmup by our sevika Sapna Ji, , Hatha Yoga was lead by our Sevika Upasana Shakya - Yoga Bharathi Shikshak and followed by Sound and Meditation by Deepa ji.
