Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - Omega Epsilon Omega Chapter The organization was legally incorporated in January 1913 under the leadership of Nellie Quander and her gallant and visionary associates.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC on January 15, 1908 by nine students who were led by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle. Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-trained women. To trace its history is to tell a story of changing patterns of human relations in America in the 20th century. As the So

rority grew, it kept in balance two important themes: the importance of the individual and the strength of an organization of women of ability and courage. The goals of its program activities center on significant issues in families, communities, government halls and world assembly chambers. On December 13, 2015, Omega Epsilon Omega chapter was chartered with thirty-seven members and is committed to achieving the Founders’ motto to be of “SERVICE TO ALL MANKIND.”

Today, we're Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black by intentionally supporting Black-owned restaurants, cafés, bakeries, caterers, food trucks, and beverage brands.

Whether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, or a sweet treat, every purchase helps strengthen Black-owned businesses, create opportunities, and build economic wealth within our communities.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Great Lakes Region "A Klassy Attire" Prom Dress Collection was a tremendous success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the Uplift Our Local Community Committee collected 85 prom dresses to support the Destined for Greatness Mentoring Group Prom Dress Drive.

Destined for Greatness is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering at-risk girls through peer mentorship and wrap-around services for individuals of all ages. This formal wear will help young women feel confident, beautiful, and celebrated during prom season.

Thank you to everyone who donated; your kindness and commitment to uplifting our community will make a lasting impact in the lives of many young women this prom season. 💕

In March we celebrated National Reading Month.

Omega Epsilon Omega members read to youth throughout our community. Our members read in their schools, local libraries, and with the youth in their families. 

On March 27th, we joined Pi Tau Omega sorors at Stevenson Elementary for AKA Reading Day. We were hosted by principal, sister Tonya Hickman and Media Specialist Sister Carlis Gaddis. Throughout the day, readers from both chapters entered the classrooms and read multiple books to students. We want to thank for collaborationg with us on this event to make a lasting impact and  for allowing us into the classrooms to share the joy of literacy.
