One of our favorite kid volunteers started 4th grade this week! 🎒📚 Good luck, Pearl — we hope you have an amazing year! 💛

Pearl loves spending time at Under One Roof, whether she’s joining residents for card games, helping in the gardens, or pitching in to set up for special events.

While Under One Roof is home to a preschool, our intergenerational model extends well beyond our youngest learners. We welcome students from elementary school through college to volunteer, connect, and build meaningful relationships across generations.

What an incredible Sunday it was at Under One Roof! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Picnic and helped make it such a joyful celebration of the community that makes The Marvin so special.

We were thrilled to celebrate with our founder, Mary R Windt, and incredibly grateful to Creative Culinary and Jeff Shapiro for providing all of the delicious food. Thank you to our wonderful Board of Directors, our residents, families, friends, and supporters who came out to spend the afternoon with us.

It was also a very special day as we celebrated Jose ahead of his retirement. After so many years of dedication to The Marvin and our residents, we will miss you tremendously, Jose! 💛

Thank you to Senator Bob Duff, Senate Majority Leader and Commissioner Josh Goldstein for stopping by to celebrate with us and for your continued support of our community.

And finally, hats off to our amazing staff, Lee, Brooke, Jose, and Jarrod, for all the work behind the scenes to pull off another incredible event. We couldn’t do it without you!

Days like this are a wonderful reminder of what Under One Roof is all about: community, connection, and generations coming together.

Their generous funding helped us bring this incredible game room to life for our senior residents, and we truly could not have done it without them.

Today was pure joy. ❤️

A huge thank you to ⁠CT Custom Carts and the Lostumbo brothers for treating our residents to an unforgettable afternoon! We piled into the carts for a beach ride and, of course, a stop at Mr. Frosty’s for ice cream. There was so much laughter, so many smiles, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time.

One of our residents summed it up perfectly: “That was the most fun I’ve had all year.”

Moments like these remind us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such an incredibly generous community. Thank you for sharing your time, your kindness, and your hearts with our residents. It meant more than words can express. 💙 CT Custom Carts
