We are a true no-kill shelter, and will do whatever we can, however long it takes, to find suitable, loving homes for the animals in our care. PAWS is a no kill shelter that has been helping homeless animals since 1962. We have Cats and Dogs for adoption, 12-4pm Tuesday thru Sunday! You do need an appointment to visit now, and you must be an approved adopter.

Today is 🐈‍⬛ and earlier this month reached out to request an interview regarding and how it affects adoption. From Oct 2025 to Oct 2026 we adopted out 62 cats listed as "all or mostly black" with an average in shelter stay of 41 days. Conversely the number of cats adopted during that same period of time listed as "primarily white" was just 1/3 as many & had a 33% longer stay. This is not a true case study or scientific data - just some fun stats from our shelter. Here are a few of our currently adoptable & recently adopted kitties 🐾💕

Cosette is a pretty young tabico girl who had a pretty rough start. She was quite ill when found due to pregnancy complications which caused her to lose the kittens but thanks to our very own veterinarian fostering her she survived. Cosette does not enjoy the company or if we're being honest - the mere presence of other cats in her vicinity. Would you consider taking home this gorgeous chatty girl to be your one and only pampered princess?

Today is National Feral Cat Day.

Kittens like these in the photo and cats of all ages are in various neighborhoods in our community. PAWS has a TNR (trap-neuter-release) program funded from private donations to pay for the spay/neuter procedures to help control overpopulations.

The program is 💪 by a small group of volunteers and trappers to help the ferals get to appointments and return to their groups. Kittens can be fostered and adopted through PAWS. Some adult cats have feral personalities and only want to live outside, a life they’ve only known. Those are not considered for adoption, but returned with cat colonies.
