ASCO week is going to bring a flood of cancer headlines.

You’re going to hear about new treatments, clinical trial results, diagnostics, and precision medicine.

Some of this information might change your care. Some might bring you hope.

Follow me to sort through what’s exciting (in simple terms) and what it might mean for you.

One thing people do not talk about enough?

What happens AFTER treatment.

As more of us live longer after cancer, survivorship becomes its own phase of healthcare.

And survivorship is about much more than recurrence.

It’s also about knowing late effects of your treatments and staying current on screenings.

These are some of the appointments I personally believe matter enormously for long-term survivors:

• oncology follow-up
• primary care
• dermatology
• colonoscopy and routine screenings
• OB/GYN

Because we are not “finished” when treatment stops.

We are beginning something new.

Follow me for practical guidance on survivorship and navigating long-term cancer care.

I review cancer headlines every day through one lens:
Is this reliable, and is this something survivors need to know?

Because the goal isn’t just information.

It’s helping you ask better questions and have better conversations with your doctor.

After 30 years living with cancer, I know how overwhelming this world can feel. I’m here to help make it clearer.

If that matters to you, follow me here.

Bispecifics are quickly becoming one of the most important new areas in cancer treatment.

These newer immunotherapies first gained attention in blood cancers like multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and leukemia. But they are now moving into some solid tumors as well, including lung cancer, specific forms of melanoma, and pancreatic cancer.

Importantly, as doctors get better at managing side effects, some of these therapies are moving out to the community hospitals.

That can mean better access for more patients.

Ask your doctor if your hospital has access to the latest immunotherapy treatments and clinical trials.

And follow me for more practical updates on the science and technology changing cancer care.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting starts May 29, and it’s where many of the biggest cancer research updates get announced first.

New treatments. Clinical trials. Immunotherapy advances. Better ways to manage survivorship.

I know how overwhelming these meetings can feel as a patient or caregiver, so I’ll be breaking down the most important headlines into clear, practical information and the questions worth asking your doctors.

Most of these updates will be shared over on Instagram, so feel free to follow me there.

30 years ago, I was told I had 3 years to live.

Today, I’m here, a survivor of a fatal blood cancer partly because of decisions I made and actions I took.

I’m sharing 5 things I did right so you can use them too, whether you’re newly diagnosed, in treatment, or in survivorship mode.

Let me know which are most helpful.

Follow me for more insights.
