Live Like Brent Foundation

The Live Like Brent Foundation (LLBF) was created to honor the late Brent P. Evans and to give back to those affected by blood cancers.

The foundation seeks to inspire others to fight blood cancer like a legend... the way Brent did! Evans and to give back to those affected by blood cancer. Brent started Carve for Cancer, a winter sports and music festival raising money for blood cancer in 2012 during his battle with Lymphoma. He was an absolutely amazing individual who touched the lives of so many. Sadly, in July of 2017, Brent lo

st his life at 33 years old to complications from his blood cancer. He was an amazing son, a loyal friend, and one of the most vivacious dudes to ever exist. Today, the LLBF seeks to inspire others to live an impassioned life and live every day to the fullest… just like Brent did. Brent battled and beat cancer twice and in turn knew all too well about the many struggles cancer patients face. The last thing patients should have to worry about during the fight of their life is the financial pressures treatment can put on individuals and their families. The LLBF seeks to alleviate some of the financial strains associated with that battle. We encourage everyone, especially those who are fighting their battle with cancer to Live Like Brent - Brent fought cancer like a legend, maintained a positive outlook, and lived life to the absolute fullest! The Live Like Brent Foundation will continue to improve the lives of those battling all forms of blood cancer and make their road to recovery just a little bit easier.

The mortgage does not pause because treatment changes what a family can carry.

One de-identified example in our impact report involved a family that needed mortgage support during transplant recovery. LLBF paid the mortgage provider directly on the patient’s behalf so the family could stay in their home.

A utility bill can become a serious problem when treatment has already disrupted work and regular life.

Utilities accounted for 365 approved patient expenses and $93,148 in support. LLBF pays approved expenses directly to the company providing the service on a patient’s behalf.

One recent request came from a patient who had returned home after a stem cell transplant and could not work because of infection risk. Household utility bills were piling up.

LLBF approved the utility expense and paid the utility provider directly on the patient’s behalf.

That bill was one less thing to carry while care continued.

Every trip to treatment takes planning, time, and money. For a patient already carrying the cost of blood cancer care, the ride can become the barrier.

LLBF has funded 754 transportation trips, the foundation’s most frequently issued type of support. Approved payments go directly to verified vendors on a patient’s behalf.
