During Red Ribbon Week, we'll be Planting the Promise by planting red tulips as a symbol of our commitment to living drug-free. When the tulips bloom in the spring, they'll serve as a reminder of the promise we made not only this week, but all year long.

Plant the Promise this October and look for the beautiful blooms in April!

Red Ribbon Week has a history rooted in prevention, remembrance, and community action.

What began as a way to honor the memory of DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena and his dedication to stopping drug trafficking has grown into a nationwide campaign encouraging young people, families, and communities to make healthy, drug-free choices.

This Red Ribbon Week, we’re continuing that tradition by showing that prevention starts with all of us.

Today is National Drug Take Back Day!

Have medications at home that you no longer want or need? Drop them off this weekend at your local police department. This is a free, safe, and environmentally friendly way to throw away old meds.

Can't make it this weekend? A list of disposal sites that are open year-round can be found on the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office's website.

Disposal sites CAN accept:
✔️Prescription and over-the-counter tablets and capsules
✔️Inhalers and nasal sprays
✔️Creams and ointments
✔️Pet medicines
✔️Vaping products with batteries removed

Disposal sites CANNOT accept:
❌Needles
❌Liquid meds
❌Intravenous/injectable solutions
❌Marijuana and illegal drugs
