FEMA is in Hamilton County — What Residents Need to Know

FEMA inspectors are now in Hamilton County assessing homes that residents reported as unsafe after recent storm damage. If you applied for assistance, you may receive a call or text to schedule an inspection.

Neighbors across Hamilton County are still feeling the impact of the severe storms.

If your home took on damage, there is a resource worth knowing about.

The REALTORS® Relief Foundation, through MIBOR and the Indiana Association of REALTORS®, is offering grants of up to $1,000 to Indiana homeowners and renters whose primary residence was damaged. Funds can go toward mortgage payments, rental costs from displacement, or hotel expenses if you had to evacuate.

Funding is first come, first served and applications close November 11, 2026, so if this applies to you or a neighbor, do not wait to apply.

White River Clean-up: An Update
After the White River reached a record crest this month, our team is taking a step back to figure out what this year's clean-up should actually look like.
This isn't a normal year for that stretch of river. We want to plan a clean-up that matches what this water and this community actually need right now, not just repeat what we've always done.
We're working with the county and our partners on next steps. Stay tuned.
Thank you to every Neighbor who has already shown up for flood relief this month. That same spirit is exactly what will shape what comes next.

Hamilton County: We Need Your Skills

Our Long Term Recovery Group is forming the committees that will guide our county's flood recovery for the projected next 3 years and we're looking for neighbors with a knack for finance, fundraising, communications, construction, case management, donations, or emotional/spiritual care.

This is volunteer-led, and to keep it fair, we ask that participants not be current government employees, directly flood-affected, or a close family member/associate of someone who was.

We have a truck from Fort Wayne showing up for a delivery today (9/1) at 5:00pm at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.

The FEMA Mobile Registration Intake Center (MRIC) is open now at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds for residents who need to register for federal disaster assistance following recent flooding.

If you need help getting to the Intake Center, please call the Hamilton County Flood Relief Hotline: 317‑645‑3261 — transportation support is available for anyone who needs it.

The MRIC, located at 2003 Pleasant Street, Hall C in Noblesville, is open Monday 8/31, Tuesday 9/1, and Wednesday 9/2 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Staff can help you apply for FEMA assistance, complete your application, learn about available programs, and confirm your submission.

You can also apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov or DisasterAssistance.gov/es for Spanish-language support.

No appointment is needed. Just stop by and speak directly with a FEMA representative who can answer your questions and guide you through the process.
