Today, a dad got to celebrate his daughter’s birthday during a visit. We pulled out the party hats and all joined in together to sing happy birthday!

It was a sweet reminder that even in the midst of hard seasons, there is still room for joy and celebrating the little moments!

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make the most impact.

Last night, we gathered with some of our families for September Community Night and it was SO sweet!

The Cooper House was full of laughter, prayer, sharing a meal, reconnecting with old friends, and meeting new ones!

What started as a simple invitation to dinner and time together became a night to share stories of where we see God at work and to be reminded of how one invitation can be the key to feeling like we belong - the same way Jesus has invited us to belong to Him and His family💛

It’s a blessing to be able to do life with these families. Here’s a glimpse into what they had to say!

“Thank you all for welcoming my kids and I into the Cooper House. My babies all enjoyed themselves, I did as well. It’s always a pleasure to be in a judgement free zone full of love. I truly appreciate each and everyone!“

“That was super fun and the great experience. My kids are still raving about it! Such a simple idea, and it made a huge impact.”

Thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping provide food and for spending time with the kids! The night would not have been the same without you!

Some partnerships remind us just how kind the Lord is. 🩵

Today we simply want to say thank you to The Christ Foundation for believing in The Cooper House and helping support the families we have the privilege of serving.

Their generosity helped fund our Busting Down Barriers initiative this past year, allowing us to come alongside families when one obstacle stood between them and hope.

Whether it was childcare so a single mom could keep working, a bed so a child could come home, a car seat to keep a little one safe, groceries during a difficult month, or help with rent, utilities, or transportation...these weren’t just expenses. They were opportunities to LOVE PEOPLE WELL. 🫶🏽

Because of this partnership, we were able to provide barrier-busting assistance through 139 adult service encounters and 192 child service encounters. 🙌🏽

To our friends at The Christ Foundation, thank you for choosing to walk alongside us. Thank you for helping families know they are seen, heard, chosen, and loved. We are so grateful to be serving Indiana together. 💛

Sometimes, a safe place looks like waffles and chocolate milk. 🧇🥛❤️

A late night, a sibling set arrived needing a place to rest. One of our amazing volunteers, Angela, got the house ready and greeted them when they arrived.

Soon we learned; they needed shoes. Clothes. Backpacks for school. Diapers and wipes. They needed a place to play, use their imaginations by bringing a video game to life (involved tomatoes from our garden 😂🫶🏾) and a place where they didn’t have to worry about if or when they would eat again.

So the morning started simply: waffles and chocolate milk for each child. 🧇🤎

At The Cooper House, we believe these seemingly small moments matter. A warm breakfast. A clean change of clothes. A backpack for school. A safe place to sleep. A chance to laugh and play. These things remind children that they are seen, heard, chosen and loved by us and their Heavenly Father!

And we are so grateful for our caseworkers. They carry so much as they care for children and families in crisis. We are especially thankful that they worked hard to find a placement where these siblings could stay together and not be separated.🫶🏼

This is what emergency removal support can look like.
A safe place to rest.
A full belly.
A little bit of normal.
And the reminder that they are not alone.

One way we help foster hope for our families is by packing bags for our sweet kiddos going through a placement transition! Our hearts and mission is that everyone would feel seen, heard, chosen, and loved and in doing so that can look like providing items they may need and want through a big transition.
