170 of you carried our Raise Your Voice campaign to $38,851. We are right at the edge of our $40,000 goal, and the campaign closes this Friday, June 26.

This is the part where you get to be the reason we made it.

Last weekend, Empire City Men's Chorus performed Love Letters — two nights of music that gave voice to tenderness, history, and the stories that have always existed between men, even when the world wasn't ready to hear them.

Three world premieres. Music that didn't exist before Friday night.

This weekend, Empire City Men's Chorus sings Love Letters.

It is our Pride Month concert, and at its heart are world premieres written for us. In Tunnel Rats, composer Shawn Crouch sets the words of two Vietnam veterans on the bond they formed in a foxhole. In Houses of Eternity, Zoe Yost gives voice to a letter the poet William Blake wrote to a dear friend in 1800. Around them, more than fifty voices sing familiar songs about fathers and sons, comfort, and the people we hold close.

It is full of a tenderness men have always felt and rarely said out loud. This weekend, we give it a sound.

Friday, June 12 and Sunday, June 14 at Church of the Holy Apostles. Tickets at empirecitymenschorus.org.

If you can't be in the hall, you can still be part of it. Our Raise Your Voice campaign runs through June 26, and every gift helps bring music like this into the world.
